CONNECTOR INSERT WITH ROD ACCOMMODATION HOLE
Threaded rod connector including a housing having a cavity for receiving a threaded rod therein, wherein the cavity has a mouth, and an insert including a plurality of rod engagement segments, which are arranged within the cavity, wherein the cavity has a tapered zone tapering towards the mouth for wedging the rod engagement segments against the threaded rod, wherein the insert further includes a plurality of interconnected segment carrying arms, wherein each of the rod engagement segments is connected to at least one of the segment carrying arms, wherein the segment carrying arms form a cage for accommodating the threaded rod. The insert further includes a collar, wherein the segment carrying arms are interconnected via the collar, and wherein the collar surrounds a rod accommodation hole that is aligned with the cage, such that a straight threaded rod can be simultaneously positioned both within the rod accommodation hole and within the cage.
Adjustable post-to-substrate embed system
An adjustable railing post-to-substrate embed system for anchoring a railing post having a railing base with plural railing base anchor holes includes: a plate, having anchor holes; a plurality of nuts, a first end of each nut being arranged proximate a respective one of the anchor holes, the first end of each nut being configured to be selectively and removably threadingly engaged, via the respective anchor hole, with one selected from the group consisting of: respective upper protective bolts, and respective bolts of the railing base; and a plurality of anchors, each being configured to adjustably threadingly engage a second end of a respective one of the nuts, distal the respective anchor hole, each of the anchors being individually adjustable in length by threadable engagement with the second end of the respective one of the nuts.
Concrete anchor
An anchor rod support comprises a support having a floor and legs extending downwardly from the floor with openings between the legs; and the support including threads for attaching thereto an anchor rod.
Concrete anchor coupling assembly and anchor rod holder
Concrete coupling assembly comprises a base holder for being attached to a concrete forming surface, the base holder including a central opening; a coupler having one end disposed within the central opening, the coupler having an axis for being positioned substantially transverse to the forming surface, the coupler having first and second threaded bores through the one end for attachment of a threaded rod; and a separate anchor body threadedly attached to another end of the coupler.
Anchor holders and anchor assemblies for metal decks
An anchor holder for concrete decks comprises a body for being inserted into an opening in a metal deck, the body including an outside vertical wall and an opening for receiving an anchor. The body includes arms normally biased extending outwardly from the vertical wall, the arms being collapsible toward the body when the body is inserted into the opening in the metal deck and expanding outwardly after passing the opening to be disposed below the metal deck. A support is attached to the body, the support to engage a top surface of the metal deck to apply an upward force on the body and keep the collapsible arms engaged against an underside of the metal deck when the body is attached to the metal deck.
System and tool for wireless retrieval of measured component data
A system for remotely retrieving sensed conditions at one or more building components. The building components are remote or numerous so that a wireless collection of the sensed conditions provides a significant benefit to a builder or building operator. A remote transceiver sends a wireless signal to a building component. The building component includes an onboard transceiver. At least some of the energy from the transmitted wireless signal is received by the onboard transceiver, sent to a storage device, and stored therein. The stored energy is used to operate a sensor for sensing an onboard condition. The onboard condition is then wirelessly transmitted by the onboard transceiver back to the remote transceiver to be displayed.
Specialized connection devices and method of use
An anchor bolt fastener assembly with specialized connection capabilities and features for attaching building components to concrete slabs, walls, ceilings, and/or structural surfaces. Compression force can be established and maintained over time using a compression washer in combination with a specialized fastener stud that is designed to exploit the compression washer benefits. Methods of using exemplary embodiments include installing the anchor bolt fastener assembly relatively flush with the surface of the concrete slurry by direct insertion in the slurry using a specialized threaded anchor bolt float. Once the slurry hardens, the anchor bolt and anchor bolt float embedded in the concrete slurry cooperate with the specialized fastener stud to secure the building component to the concrete.
Field-resizable slab anchor that uses cut-to-length pipe
A slab anchor that is resizable in the field to accommodate different thicknesses of slabs. The anchor may have a top assembly and a bottom assembly that are joined by pipe such as widely available PVC pipe. A contractor can simply determine the desired width of the slab (which determines the height of the anchor) and cut a PVC pipe to the length necessary to make a slab anchor of the needed height. This system allows contractors to keep on hand only a single type of slab anchor, and to customize this anchor easily at the last minute for each slab. The top assembly of the anchor may have a coil that a fastener screws into after the concrete is poured; a coil protector screw may be placed into the coil during pouring so that concrete does not fill the coil, and removed thereafter to install the fastener.
Method for a combination tool utilized with an anchoring system
A method includes drilling a hole through a surface of a metal deck system via a drill component of a combination tool system. The method also includes disposing a portion of an anchoring system through the hole of the metal deck system. The anchoring system includes an anchor body supported by a housing sleeve. The method also includes removing the drill component of the combination tool system to expose a fastening component of the combination tool system. The method also includes fastening the anchoring system to the metal deck by pushing one or more fasteners through the housing sleeve and into the metal deck via the fastening component of the combination tool system.
