Expansion joint cover plate with retained spring biasing
10053857 · 2018-08-21 · ·

An expansion joint cover plate assembly for covering a gap between first and second sections of a building formation such as wall, floor or ceiling of a building. The assembly includes a cover plate, a support structure for supporting the plate relative to the building formation and a spring biasing structure for holding the plate against the support structure.

COVER ASSEMBLY FOR STRUCTURAL MEMBERS
20180112363 · 2018-04-26 ·

An expansion joint system for bridging an expansion joint gap between two spaced-apart, underlying building or roadway structures. The expansion joint system includes a cover plate, at least one swing arm, sliding bearings engaged with the swing arms, and fasteners for engaging the swing arms to the cover plate. The swing arms include a receiving well configured for receiving a mechanical fastener to fasten the swing arms to the cover plate. The expansion joint system permits movement in response to a seismic or thermal event that causes expansion or contraction of the gap between structural members while maintaining coverage of the gap, and following a seismic or thermal event, the maintains a substantially-centered position of the cover plate.

Durable joint seal system with flexibly attached cover plate
20180106001 · 2018-04-19 · ·

A system which creates a durable seal between adjacent horizontal panels, including those that may be curved or subject to temperature expansion and contraction or mechanical shear. The durable seal system incorporates a plurality of ribs, a flexible member between the cover plate and the ribs and may incorporate a load transfer plate to provide support to the rib from below, and/or cores of differing compressibilities.

Expansion joint cover

An expansion joint cover for insertion in an expansion gap comprising a first frame section for attachment to a substrate at one side of the expansion gap, the first frame section having a flat surface; a second frame section for attachment to a substrate at an opposite side of the expansion gap, the second frame section having a first connector; a centre section configured to span the expansion gap and slide on the flat surface of the first frame section, the centre section having a second connector; and a linkage section configured to engage with the first and second connectors to connect the centre section to the second frame section, wherein the linkage section can pivot within the first and second connectors to allow movement of the centre section with respect to the second frame section.

Cover panel seismic expansion joint

A seismic expansion joint cover assembly installed at an expansion gap between a first structural member on one side of a gap and a second structural member on the opposite side of the gap including a cover panel bridging the gap having at least one connector joining one edge of the cover panel to the first structural component to allow movement of the cover panel. The expansion joint cover assembly includes at least one slide support, which attaches to the second structural member, and which includes a track having a lift component located on the track to lift the cover panel. The expansion joint cover assembly also includes a rider assembly for engaging with the track of the slide support. One or more spring assemblies are attached to the second structural member and the cover panel. The expansion joint cover assembly is mechanically latched when the system is in the normal service position, but has the capability of becoming unlatched in response to large displacements.

Building structure

A building structure with a base unit and building unit that can be moved relative to the base unit is provided with a joint cover, which bridges a compensating joint between the building unit and base unit, supported on the building unit and on the base unit. At least one of the two support structures has sliding partners, one of which is a sliding partner paired with the building or base unit in a fixed position and the other of which is a sliding partner paired with the joint cover in a fixed position. One of the sliding partners is designed as a sliding ramp in a region such that when the sliding ramp contacts the paired sliding partner, an approaching movement of the building unit towards the base unit raises the joint cover. The sliding ramp may be designed with a continuously decreasing pitch.
