Expansion Joint Seal System
20180148922 · 2018-05-31 · ·

An expansion joint seal system which includes intumescent to protect uncoated edges of substrates. A fire rated compressed expansion joint sealant is provided having an intumescent proximate, but below the water-resistant top of the fire-retardant foam, so that when exposed to fire, the intumescent expands to protect the exposed vertical surface of the adjacent concrete substrate. The end of the concrete is therefore protected in a manner which does not require joint overlap between the horizontal fire resistant coating and the compressible sealant.

Expansion joint system

An expansion joint system includes: a core; and a layer of an elastomer disposed on the core. The core and the layer of elastomer disposed thereon form an elongated section, the elongated section configured to be oriented vertically between substantially coplanar substrates. The expansion joint system further includes a termination section located at one end of the elongated section and comprising a flared end forming an angle with the elongated section and configured to direct fluid and/or particles and/or solvents away from the expansion joint system.

Cementitious panels with swellable materials and methods of providing a moisture or water barrier in cementitious panels using swellable materials

Provided are cementitious panel that include a swellable material within a core layer, a dense layer, and/or a sheet of facing material that make up a cementitious panel, as well as methods of manufacturing such cementitious panels that include a swellable material and methods of providing a moisture or water barrier in a cementitious panel.

REUSABLE DEVICE FOR PROTECTING AGAINST WATER CONDUCTION

The application comprises a device for protecting against water ingress and fire penetration into interspaces and into cavities through expansion joints in structures, cable ducts and cable lead-throughs which are occupied by cables and/or pipes, and, depending on the application, serves as a fire protection or leakage protection device in landfills, tank systems and transport and/or safety containers in the sea sector. The device comprises a flat-tube cushion which is fixed in terms of length and width and which is equipped on the outer sides with a swellable nonwoven sealing strip. In the interior, the leakage or protective flat-tube cushion is provided with at least one swellable nonwoven sealing strip which has high-tensile-strength closures on the longitudinal side and the transverse side and is filled or evacuated via at least one plastic-coated metal compressed-air valve with a valve extension, and, depending on the application, can be equipped with a radio monitoring or control system.

FIRE RESISTANT TUNNEL EXPANSION JOINT SYSTEMS

A fire resistant tunnel expansion joint system for installation between substrates of a tunnel. The system includes a fire protection barrier applied at a predetermined thickness to the substrates and a fire resistant tunnel expansion joint. The tunnel expansion joint includes a core and a fire retardant infused into the core. The core is configured to define a profile to facilitate the compression of the tunnel expansion joint when installed between the substrates. The fire protection barrier and the fire resistant tunnel expansion joint are each capable of withstanding exposure to a temperature of at least about 540 C. or greater for about five minutes.

Precompressed water and/or fire resistant tunnel expansion joint systems, and transitions

A fire and/or water resistant expansion joint system for installation between substrates of a tunnel. The system includes a coating applied at a predetermined thickness to the substrates and a fire and water resistant expansion joint. The expansion joint includes a core and a fire retardant infused into the core. The core is configured to define a profile to facilitate the compression of the expansion joint system when installed between the substrates. The coating and the fire and water resistant expansion joint are each capable of withstanding exposure to a temperature of at least about 540 C. or greater for about five minutes.

Sealing device for double edge joints, and drywall

A sealing device can be used for a double edge joint which is formed between a floor, a wall, or a ceiling and an adjacent first cladding and a spaced-apart second cladding of drywall having double-layer cladding. The sealing device contains a sealing profile having a holding portion and a first base body for sealing a first edge joint on the first cladding and a second base body for sealing a second edge joint on the second cladding. The first and the second base bodies are connected to one another via the holding portion and, in combination therewith, form a U-shaped receptacle for the holding rail of the drywall. Furthermore, drywall can contain a sealing device of this type.

Foam envelope for sealing large volumes

An article comprises a tube having peripheral areas, including an upper section, a lower section, an inner section, and an outer section, the tube further comprising a tube wall having an inner layer and an outer layer, the inner layer being a semipermeable membrane that is permeable to vapors but impermeable to liquids and the outer layer being a nonwoven fabric, and the tube further comprising at least one inlet port integrated into the tube wall to permit the flow of an activated or activatable foamable composition into the tube interior, wherein the tube further has a plurality of holes that penetrate through the inner and outer layers of the tube to allow expanding foam to both fill the interior of the tube and exit the tube and fill a space exterior to the tube.
