Mechanical in-exsufflation
11433200 · 2022-09-06 · ·

The present disclosure pertains to a method and system configured for cough synchronization in a mechanical insufflation-exsufflation system. The system is configured to synchronize (712) the transition from an insufflation mode to an exsufflation mode to a patient initiated cough by detecting cough effort of the patient e.g. at the end of the insufflation phase. The detection of cough effort of the patient is based on one or more parameters associated with gas in the system. Upon detecting that the patient is initiating a cough, the system automatically switches the insufflation mode to the exsufflation mode to assist the patient to generate an effective cough.

VENTILATOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A ventilator includes a ventilation drive configured to drive ventilation gas from a gas source to a patient and a patient interface section configured to guide inspiratory gas from the ventilation drive to a patient connection, receive expiratory gas from the patient connection, and expel the expiratory gas out of the ventilator. The ventilation drive and patient interface section are configured to removably connect to at least one host comprising a ventilation path portion so as to divert the inspiratory gas through the ventilation path portion of the host when connected thereto.

PHYSIOLOGICAL LUNG SIMULATOR

The present disclosure provides techniques for a ventilator system with a removable airway. A ventilator system may include a removable airway and a base unit. The removable airway may include an air inlet port, a patient inhalation port, an air exhaust port, and a patient exhalation port. The base unit may include two pinch valves. In some cases, the removable airway does not comprise any openings other than the air inlet port, the air exhaust port, the patient inhalation port, and the patient exhalation port. In some cases, the removable airway is configured such that air inside the removable airway does not contact any part of the base unit. In some cases, the removable airway is configured such that air that enters the patient exhalation port is contained within the removable airway along a contiguous path and at no point does the contiguous path contact the base unit.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING RESPIRATORY THERAPY
20210330913 · 2021-10-28 · ·

Methods and apparatus involve generation of an anti-infection therapy. The method/apparatus may include a controller controlling setting of a respiratory flow therapy device for the therapy. The controller may compute a target flow rate profile for a patient using a margin function, such that the target flow rate profile, according to the margin function, exceeds a minimum inspiratory flow rate profile of the patient's inspiration. The controller may control setting the respiratory flow therapy device to generate a flow of air to a patient interface according to the target flow rate profile, where the generation may be in synchrony with a sensed parameter that is indicative of a breathing cycle of the patient.
