WALL GAP FIRE BLOCK DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
20220023684 · 2022-01-27 ·

Fire block devices for application to a wall component, a wall component with a fire block device and wall assemblies including the same. The fire-block device can be a wall component that includes a fire-resistant material strip that expands in response to sufficient heat to create a fire-resistant barrier. In some applications, the fire-block wall component is positioned to extend lengthwise along and across a gap between wallboard members. The fire-block wall component may have a central portion and a pair of side portions extending in opposite directions from the central portion. The fire-resistant material may be positioned on the central portion of the fire-block device. The central portion may be positioned within the gap such that the fire-resistant material expands in response to sufficient heat to create a fire-resistant barrier.

Two-piece track system

A fire-rated receiver channel includes at least one intumescent or other fire-resistant material strip. The receiver channel can nest with a framing member, such as metal tracks, headers, header tracks, sill plates, bottom tracks, metal studs, wood studs or wall partitions, and placed at a perimeter of a wall assembly to create a fire block arrangement. In other arrangements, a track assembly includes two nested tracks, an inner track and outer track. The assembly is designed so that the outside width of the outer track is equal to or less than the outside width of the inner track to present a substantially flush external surface for attachment of exterior sheathing elements when the assembly is used in an external wall.

Modular integrated construction joint

The invention relates to a modular integrated construction joint which includes a first building module, a second building module or a structural wall and a joint between the first building module and the second building module or structural wall. The joint includes a flexible seamless stitching system, which provides a long-term firestop, smokestop and waterproof for the joint cavity in-between modules in modular integrated construction (MiC).

Smoke baffle system
11519170 · 2022-12-06 ·

A system and corresponding method for suspending a set of panels. The system includes a mounting rail with a base having a first side and a second side. The first side of the base defines a planar surface configured to be secured against a structural support member and the second side includes a curved surface. The system also includes an alignment rail with a curved base, the alignment rail rotatably secured to the mounting rail along a pair of curved mating surfaces. The pair of curved mating surfaces is formed from the curved surface of the mounting rail and the curved base of the alignment rail. Additionally, the system includes a panel secured to the alignment rail.

Fire blanket for expansion joints and method for retarding fire past expansion joints
11459749 · 2022-10-04 · ·

An improved fire blanket for use in expansion joints of buildings to retard the movement of fire and smoke. The invention permits movement of the joint without damaging or otherwise compromising the fire-retardant properties of the barrier. This movement may occur when the width of the joint changes due to expansion or contraction of the joint or when one side of the joint moves relative to the other along the length, or longitudinal axis, of the joint. The expansion and contraction introduce compressive and tensile loads and the relative movement along the length of the joint introduces shear loads. The invention prevents such compressive/tensile and shear loads from being introduced into the assembly and impacting its fire-retardant capabilities.

A splinter binding and weight bearing foil with an adhesive and a glass pane in a smoke barrier system. The smoke barrier system includes a fixation element. The adhesive is arranged between the splinter binding foil and the glass pane, wherein the splinter binding foil is equipped to hold glass fragments of a glass pane together in case of a glass breakage. The splinter binding foil is arranged between the fixation element and the glass pane, in particular the splinter binding foil is clamped between the fixation element and the glass pane. The splinter binding foil is designed to detach from the glass pane in the case of fire and/or temperature influence.

FLUTE PLUG
20220098856 · 2022-03-31 ·

A pre-formed flute plug including compressed fire-resistant material (e.g., mineral wool) for fireblocking a head-of-wall assembly. The plugs can be pre-formed to shape and include an outer coating that contains the compressed fire-resistant material inside. Once installed within a flute void, the outer coating can be ruptured to allow expansion of the fire-resistant material to fill the flute void.
