ADDITIVE GAS DELIVERY APPARATUS WITH BACKUP
An additive gas delivery apparatus for delivery of additive gas to inspirational gas can be set to deliver the additive gas according to a dosing setting in normal therapy, and can be set to deliver according to a backup dosing setting in response disruption of signals representing data for controlling the delivery of additive gas according to the dosing setting in normal therapy. An additive gas delivery apparatus has an inlet for the additive gas and an integrated inlet for gas for oxygenating the patient that are connected to a backup line to mix the additive gas and gas for oxygenating the patient to a set concentration of additive gas in the gas mixture at an integrated backup outlet of the additive gas delivery apparatus.
Methods and systems for waste gas detection in an anesthetic vaporizer
Systems and methods are provided for detecting and sequestering waste anesthetic gases released by an anesthetic vaporizer. In one embodiment, a method for an anesthetic vaporizer installed in an anesthesia machine includes detecting an emission of waste anesthetic gases (WAGs) from the anesthetic vaporizer, and responsive to detecting the emission of WAGs, performing at least one of scavenging the WAGs and outputting an alert.
ARRANGEMENT AND PROCESS FOR SUPPLYING A PATIENT-SIDE COUPLING UNIT WITH A GAS MIXTURE
An arrangement and process supply a patient-side coupling unit with a gas mixture including a first gas component and a second gas component. A first duct (K.1) directs the first gas component from a first source (E) to a mixing point (8). The second gas component flows from a second source (25) to a buffer reservoir (5) and from the buffer reservoir (5) through a second duct (K.2) to the mixing point (8). The gas mixture flows from the mixing point (8) through an inspiration duct (K.30) to the patient-side coupling unit. A pneumatic control line (28) provides a control fluid connection between the first duct (K.1) and the buffer reservoir (5). A pressure balancing is effected between the pressure inside (In.O2, In.k1) the buffer reservoir (5), the pressure in the first duct (K.1), and the pressure in the second duct (K.2).
MECHANICAL RESPIRATOR
In alternative embodiments, provided are mechanical ventilators and methods for making and using them.
VENTILATOR AND INFLATION BAG OPERATION OF VENTILATOR
A ventilator includes at-least one air vessel, at-least one inflation bag, at-least one connecting member, a bag holder and at-least one controller member. The at-least one connecting member connects to the at-least one air vessel. The bag holder may hold the inflation bag. The at-least one controller member operates the at-least one inflation bag thereby changing size of the inflation bag to vary a tidal volume and an inspiration-expiration ratio of the ventilator. In another aspect, at-least one controller member is mounted on the bag holder. Further, the at-least one controller member slides within the bag holder to change the shape of the inflation bag to vary a tidal volume and an inspiration-expiration ratio of the ventilator.
MANUAL RESUSCITATOR REGULATING SYSTEM
A manual resuscitator regulating system for regulating the rate and volume of ventilation during manual resuscitation. The manual resuscitator regulating system may include an intake assembly configured to permit a selected volume of gas to flow into a chamber over a predetermined amount of time and/or an outtake assembly configured to permit a selected volume of gas flow out of the chamber over a predetermined amount of time. The intake assembly and/or the outtake assembly may include one or more adjustment mechanisms configured to allow a user to selectively adjust volume. The intake assembly and the outtake assembly may be configured to coordinate with one another to deliver a selected tidal volume and/or volume of gas. The manual resuscitator regulating system may include a placement indicator configured to indicate or guide a user where to squeeze or compress the chamber.
Administering the Noble Gas Argon during Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Method of treating an individual following a period of ischemia are provided. The methods include administering inhaled agents postconditioning to the individual and optionally simultaneously performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The inhaled agents include at least one noble gas.
Resuscitation bag system with a gas control unit
A resuscitation bag system (1) useable for resuscitating a person in cardiac arrest, and having a gas control unit (90) with a first valve (92) fluidly connected to a first (922) and to a second conduit (923), the first (922) and second conduits (923) being arranged in parallel and further fluidly connected to the first conduit element (56), the first conduit (922) having a first flow restriction (924) configured for limiting the gas flow to a first flowrate, and the second conduit (923) comprising second flow restriction (925) configured for limiting the gas flow to a second flowrate, with the second flowrate being less than the first flowrate.
LOWER FACE OXYGEN MASK
A lower face oxygen mask dimensioned and adapted to circumscribe only the mouth of the wearer is provided. The lower face oxygen mask has spaced apart nostril prongs fluidly connecting the nostrils of the wearer with the spaced enclosed by the body of the lower face oxygen mask. The lower face oxygen mask provides an access aperture adjacent with the mouth of the wearer, the access aperture being compatible with standard size bag valve masks and anesthesia circuits. The body of the lower face oxygen mask also provides an access port for inlet and outlet conduits for oxygen and carbon dioxide flow.
Fresh Air/Oxygen Portable Breathing Device With or Without Aromas and Methods of Use
The present invention provides a portable, light-weight, breathing device and methods of use for delivering pristine, fresh air or varying high concentrations of oxygen with or without aroma, i.e., essential oils for stimulating appetite, boosting mood or decreasing stress and anxiety. The breathing device comprises an air container having a breathing air bag therein which contains the fresh air or the varying concentrations of oxygen optionally with the one or more essential oils, tubing for delivering the fresh air or oxygen to a breathing mask, and a plurality of movable valves included in the mask which directs air or oxygen into or out of the mask depending on whether the user is inhaling or exhaling. The breathing device also comprises the use of a can of compressed fresh air or oxygen with or without aroma to be used with an air reservoir or with an expandable air bag.
