Block, block system and method of making a block
A block, block system and method of making a wall block. A block with multiple embodiments of a visually exposed surface having three dimensional shaped areas and three dimensional angular valleys or joints that can be used to construct a patio, wall, fence or the like; the multiple embodiments creating a more random and natural appearance. A mold box having a moveable liner and a stripper shoe that impart three dimensional shaped areas and three dimensional angular valleys or joints onto an exposed surface of a block. The moveable liner and stripper shoe also impart a parting line onto the exposed surface of the block.
WALL WITH PRE-BENT TUBING
A thermal wall system may include a plurality of blocks configured to interconnect with each other forming a monolithic wall. The plurality of blocks form a series of vertical interior cavities that each extend from a top of the plurality of blocks to a bottom of the plurality of blocks, and tubing vertically extends through the series of vertical interior cavities.
BUILDING BLOCK, WALL CONSTRUCTIONS MADE FROM BUILDING BLOCKS, AND METHODS
A concrete building block includes indicators along each end to assist in aligning a pin placed in the block with a channel in a like block in a course below as a wall is being constructed.
Method for manufacturing a stone retaining wall block
A method for manufacturing modular retaining wall blocks in natural stone, wherein the blocks are trapezoidal blocks having top and bottom surfaces with channels that receive offset connectors in multiple orientations for building upright, offset, and curved walls. Stone from a quarry is cut or split to form substantially rectangular elongate blocks having top and bottom surfaces, opposed side faces, and opposed ends. A series of channels running parallel to the side faces is cut in each of the surfaces, the top channels lying across from the bottom channels but offset therefrom. The elongate blocks are then cut between opposing pairs of channels to form trapezoidal blocks having front and rear faces.
Construction block, a wall structure comprising the same, and a method for manufacture of said construction block and of said wall structure
A construction block comprising: two or more support members each of which has a first face and a second face opposite the first face and comprises a hollow between the first and second faces, said hollow having openings facing in a direction transverse to a direction normal to the first and second faces, said opening configured for receiving at least a portion of a tenon element allowing two such construction blocks to be assembled; a frame arrangement connecting the support members to each other, said frame arrangement having external segment(s) extending from at least one of the first and second faces in a direction away from the hollow; a first panel conterminous with the first faces; and a second panel conterminous with the second faces; wherein at least a portion of the external segment of the frame arrangement is contained within one of the first and second panels.
Building block, wall constructions made from building blocks, and methods
A concrete building block includes indicators along each end to assist in aligning a pin placed in the block with a channel in a like block in a course below as a wall is being constructed.
CONTINUOUS WALL ASSEMBLIES AND METHODS
According to one embodiment, an insulated structure includes a frame comprising a plurality of wall studs coupled together and a plurality of foam boards attached to the frame to form a continuous insulative wall. A plurality of fasteners attaches the foam boards to the frame. Each fastener includes an elongate shaft and a cap. The elongate shaft is configured to penetrate through a foam board and into a wall stud to couple the components together. The cap is configured to be positioned atop a foam board to distribute a load relatively evenly to the foam board. A sealing tape is applied across seams between adjacent foam boards and over the fasteners' caps to seal the wall. A sealing caulk is applied to secondary fasteners and penetrations to seal the wall. In some embodiments, the structure has a fastener density of about 1 fastener per 243 in.sup.2 of foam board.
Interlocking Blocks
This disclosure provides interlocking blocks that can be connected on any side to form a structure, wall, foundation, floor, building, flotation device, gardening structure, or toy. The interlocking blocks typically comprise center openings and connecting openings on each side and can be connected with hardware through the connecting openings. The center openings allow for materials such as pipes, wires, conduit, and rebar to pass through interlocked blocks. Connected blocks can also be filled with fortifying material to strengthen the structure. Sides of connected blocks can be covered with faceplates to direct flow of fortifying material and aid in the creation of desired configurations. Also provided are connectors for connecting sides of the interlocking blocks.
Modular block retaining wall system
A system for building a wall includes a plurality of blocks and a plurality of connectors for aligning the blocks in successive courses. Each block has opposing first and second surfaces bounded by opposing front and rear faces and opposing end faces, the first and second surfaces being profiled with respective first and second rectilinear channels extending parallel to the front and rear faces. Each connector has first and second portions profiled for reception in respective first and second channels, the first portion being profiled to slide but not rotate in the first channel, the second portion being profiled to slide and rotate in the second channel. The second portion is offset from the first portion so that two different orientations of two blocks placed against each other are possible. The blocks preferably have a trapezoidal shape cut with only straight cuts to facilitate using natural stone.
