11193271 · 2021-12-07 · ·

A process for producing a recess (“negative base”) in the base region of a wall construction in the drywall technique, preferably a wall construction with fire protection and/or sound insulation, wherein for the wall construction on a stud frame, using board-shaped construction elements, preferably construction elements containing gypsum and/or cement, a paneling is attached on both sides of the stud frame, and wherein at least one side of the stud frame is provided with a double-layer paneling, the outer paneling layer of which is recessed in order to produce the recess in the base region, a compensating insulant is introduced into the intermediate space between the panelings of the stud frame at least over the vertical height of the recess in the base region in order to compensate the weakening of the base region resulting from the recessed paneling.

Device and process for thermal isolation of technical elements
11359369 · 2022-06-14 · ·

Process for fire resistant protection of the technical elements of a building by means of one or more prefabricated isolation blocks, enabling pre-isolation of a vacant space in the structure of a building. The block comprises an easily modelled fire resistant material and is disposed before pouring the concrete of the structure of the building. The prefabricated block is then opened up in such a manner as to install the technical elements having to be protected from fire.

TEMPORARY WALL SYSTEM WITH FIRE BLOCK PROTECTION

A barrier system for partitioning a space includes panels which interlock with each other to provide a barrier that is fire rated. The interlocking panels are assembled in the barrier in columns using a tongue and groove assembly and a panel lock using a strike and latch supported by the tongue member and groove member, respectively. Each panel includes a peripheral frame (that is shaped to provide the tongue and groove members), opposed steel side faces mounted to the peripheral frame, and an insulation block filling an interior space delimited by the peripheral frame and the opposed steel side faces. The insulation block includes a pair of insulating material layers that sandwich a radiant barrier layer. A floor module supports a bottom edge of the panel and an interface module supports a side/top edge of the panel. The floor/interface modules are configured with telescoping sections and are length trimmable.

MECHANICALLY FASTENED FIRESTOP FLUTE PLUG
20220162851 · 2022-05-26 ·

An improved flute plug for a head-of-wall assembly for fire rated wall construction beneath a fluted deck or ceiling. The improved flute plug can be friction fit within individual flute voids that run over the top of the header track. The improved flute plug can include a single piece pre-bent steel profile with fire stopping material attached thereto or contained therein. The fire stopping material can be oversized so that it will compress into the flute void over the top of the header track. The compressed fire stopping material can provide a seal against fire, smoke and/or noise through the fluted deck voids.

Unitized construction panel

A process for fabricating a unitized structure comprises creating a multilayer structure by applying a flame-retardant resin to a first layer and stacking, on the first layer, an intermediate layer comprising a honeycomb structure. Further, a second layer is stacked on the intermediate layer and the flame-retardant resin is applied to the second layer. The multilayer structure is then heated to a desired temperature and a pressure is applied about the multilayer structure for a predetermined process time. Moreover, the flame-retardant resin is prevented from entering spaces of the honeycomb structure. After elapse of the predetermined process time, the pressure is released, creating the unitized structure.

Dynamic, fire-resistance-rated thermally insulating and sealing system having a F-Rating of a min. of 120 min for use with curtain wall structures

Described is an approved dynamic construction for effectively thermally insulating and sealing of a safing slot between a floor of a building and an exterior wall construction wherein the exterior wall construction comprises a curtain wall configuration defined by an interior wall surface. The dynamic, thermally insulating and sealing system comprises a tubular sealing element having wing-like connection areas for attaching the tubular sealing element to the curtain wall construction and the floor of a building, to maintain thermally insulating and sealing of the safing slot during exposure to fire and heat as well as movement in order to maintain a complete seal extending across the safing slot and to enhance the water-stopping properties of the insulation and seal within the safing slot.

STRUCTURAL BARRIER AND RELATED METHOD OF USE

An elongated structural barrier is provided including a base, a first panel extending upward from the base, a first sealer wall extending downward and transversely to the base, a second panel joined with the first panel and extending upwardly, a lower wedge extending upward from the base adjacent the first sealer wall, and a core compartment bounded by the lower wedge and the panels, with an open face defined above the lower wedge and offering a view into the core compartment. The lower wedge can include a flange to produce a first cavity of the compartment, in which an intumescent core can be positioned and configured to expand into a second cavity of the compartment when it swells. A second flange can oppose the first flange to further secure the core in the first cavity, and can form a bloom gap therebetween. A related method of use also is provided.

FIRE-RESISTANT WALL ASSEMBLY
20230250634 · 2023-08-10 ·

A multi-component fire-resistant (FR) assembly for use in various forms of construction. The FR assembly attains 30 minutes, 1-hour, 2-hour, or 3-hour fire resistance from either side (in accordance with ASTM E119 criteria), and does not require any added FR panels or sheathing. The FR assembly comprises an interior layer, a plurality of supporting studs, an exterior layer, a weather-resistant barrier (WRB) layer, and, in some embodiments, an outer layer. The placement of the studs creates a cavity or cavities between the interior layer and the exterior layer, which may be filled with an insulating or similar material.

Thermal and acoustic insulating and sealing system for fluted deck constructions

Described is a construction and parts of the construction for effectively thermally and acoustically insulating and sealing of a head of wall joint within a building construction having a metal deck construction defined by a head of a wall and a metal fluted deck comprising one or more flutes, wherein the head of wall is defined by a head of wall track including vertical studs and a dry wall affixed thereto, and wherein the head of wall track is installed parallel to the flute to the underside of the metal fluted deck defining a head of wall joint extending between the top edge of the dry wall and the underside of the metal fluted deck.
