A water-draining joint sealing tape can be used universally for different profile dimensions, for sealing structural joints against sound and/or smoke and optionally against fire. A joint sealing tape for sealing a joint between a first component and a second component can include an elongate connecting element and at least two sealing elements which are positioned on the connecting element so as to be spaced apart next to one another and so as to extend in the longitudinal direction of the connecting element. The sealing elements and the connecting element can include a one piece open-cell, slow-burning foam and encased by a plastic film, which tape has at least one opening in the plastic film on an underside of each sealing element. Furthermore, a water-draining sealing arrangement for sealing structural joints can be utilized.

The gap portion is located on an opposite side of the wall-end leg relative to the wall-face leg. A blocking element is located in a space defined by the wall-end leg and the gap portion. The blocking element is configured to block fire and/or sound within the wall gap. At least a portion of the flexible gap portion is located on an exterior side of the blocking element.

A composite fire-rated gasket for use in building construction is disclosed that comprises, in a multi-layered stacked configuration, the following elements: (1) a flexible flat sheet metal strip having a width and opposing first and second faces; (2) an intumescent strip adjacent to the first face of the sheet metal strip; (3) a first foamed plastic strip adjacent to the second face of the sheet metal strip; (4) a second foamed plastic layer adjacent to the intumescent strip; and (5) an elongated non-foamed protective material layer adjacent to the second foamed plastic layer. In a preferred embodiment, the flat metal strip is in the form of a spine having a plurality of ribs outwardly extending therefrom. The composite fire-rated gaskets and related building construction assemblies disclosed herein slow and impede the spread of fire and smoke (during a fire) and also reduces sound transmission between adjacent rooms in a building.

Fire rated building construction framing members and related wall assemblies are disclosed that comprise a sheet metal framing member (all profiles) in combination with a new type of multi-layer fire safety/sound reduction tape. The multi-layer fire safety/sound reduction tape comprises a flexible thermal barrier layer attached to a flexible intumescent material layer. In combination, the thermal barrier layer comprises a thermoplastic material that is on a surface of the sheet metal framing member, whereas the thermal barrier layer is attached to the intumescent layer such that the thermal barrier layer is between the sheet metal framing member and the intumescent layer. The multi-layer fire safety/sound reduction tape slows and impedes the spread of fire and smoke (during a fire) and also reduces sound transmission between adjacent rooms in a building.

The fire-block device can be a wall component that includes a fire-resistant material strip that expands in response to sufficient heat to create a fire-resistant barrier. In some applications, the fire-block wall component is positioned to extend lengthwise along and across a gap between wallboard members. The fire-block wall component may have a central portion and a pair of side portions extending in opposite directions from the central portion. The fire-resistant material may be positioned on the central portion of the fire-block device. The central portion may be positioned within the gap such that the fire-resistant material expands in response to sufficient heat to create a fire-resistant barrier.
