To attain an incombustible sound absorption panel by providing incombustibility to a sound absorption/insulation sandwich panel containing a combustible material as a constituting material.

Fine powder of chips generated during cutting of a foam material to fill in a honeycomb material is located in a gap between the foam material and a sound absorption surface material. A gap between fibers of the sound absorption surface material is blocked by the chips having been moved by a flow such as a water vapor flow generated from hydrate of the honeycomb material heated on the occurrence of a fire. As a result, an air flow path is limited. Further, carbon dioxide gas generated from the foam material is trapped to reduce an oxygen amount, thereby inhibiting combustion. Usage of an adhesive as a combustible material is reduced.

A plurality of rainscreen elements or features that are applied to the front or outer face of a structural panel or the weather resistant barrier layer on the structural panel. When an exterior cladding or sheathing product is installed over the structural panel, the rainscreen elements or features provide built-in water flow gaps or channels to facilitate and increase water drainage off the face of the structural panel, thereby minimizing water storage in the space between the structural panel and the outer cladding/sheathing. The rainscreen features are incorporated into the structural panel in-line or during the manufacturing process, and do not require any further work during assembly or construction on-site.

The present disclosure relates generally to an insulation-retaining sheet, e.g., for blown-in insulation, that includes an integral vapor-retarding membrane. In one aspect, the disclosure provides an insulation-retaining sheet including a sheet of mesh having an air permeability of at least 200 cfm per square foot; and one or more strips of vapor-retarding membrane, the one or more strips of vapor-retarding membrane being laminated to the sheet of mesh, the first side edge each of the strips of vapor-retarding membrane extending to the first side edge of the sheet of mesh, the second side edge each of the strips of vapor-retarding membrane extending to the second side edge of the sheet of mesh, wherein the insulation-retaining sheet has a plurality of open zones extending laterally from the first side edge of the sheet of mesh to the second side edge of the sheet of mesh in which no vapor-retarding membrane is laminated to the mesh.

Building board having high fastener sealability

A building board, particularly a gypsum board, can have a high fastener sealability if protected by the combination of thin layers of an extruded polymer film and a thermoplastic coating layer. The combination of extruded polymer film and thermoplastic coating layer is designed such that the gypsum board can also tolerate overdriven fasteners, thus exceeding the requirements of ASTM D1970-15.

Described herein is a building panel comprising: a substrate; a first coating applied to the substrate, the first coating comprising a flame-retardant composition; a second coating applied to the first coating, the second coating comprising: laponite clay; and a polymeric composition comprising a cured alkyd resin; wherein the building panel comprises an exposed surface formed by the second coating, and wherein the second coating has a solids content of at least 99%.
