A processor acquires a first radiographic image and a second radiographic image obtained by irradiating a subject, into which a tracheal tube has been inserted, with radiation in different directions, derives a three-dimensional position of a distal end of the tracheal tube in the subject on the basis of a position of the distal end of the tracheal tube in each of the first radiographic image and the second radiographic image, derives a three-dimensional position of a bronchial bifurcation in the subject on the basis of a bronchial bifurcation position in each of the first radiographic image and the second radiographic image, and determines insertion of the tracheal tube into an esophagus on the basis of the three-dimensional position of the distal end of the tracheal tube and the three-dimensional position of the bronchial bifurcation.

Tracheal tube insertion aid kit

A tracheal tube insertion aid kit (1) assists in inserting a tracheal tube (9) from an oral cavity (B) of a patient (A) into an endotracheal space (E) through a glottis (D) using an indirect glottis viewing type laryngoscope (2) not equipped with the tracheal tube (9). The tracheal tube insertion aid kit (1) includes a guide tube (11) having flexibility and formed to be insertable into the endotracheal space (E) from the oral cavity (B) through the glottis (D), and a guide wire (12) formed to be insertable through the inside of the guide tube (11) and insertable into the endotracheal space (E) from the oral cavity (B) through the glottis (D).

Rigid endotracheal intubation stylet with extended, angulated, tapered, and pliable tip
20220330806 · 2022-10-20 ·

A rigid intubation stylet with an extended tip for use during video laryngoscopic intubations. This tip is hyper angulated from the end of the stylet back towards the stylet body. The shape of the tip is conical and tapers down away from the body of the stylet. The tip is more pliable than the rigid stylet body. The stylet body is longer than traditional rigid stylets to allow the tip to extend past an endotracheal tube during endotracheal intubation.

MEDICAL SYSTEM WITH SEPARATOR DEVICE

A medical system comprises an operation console, a support platform configured to support a catheter, a driving unit moveably coupled to the support platform, the driving unit being configured to advance or retract the catheter based on an instruction from the operation console, a support platform configured to support a catheter, a separator device including: a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a fixed length portion between the first end and the second end, and a medical tube adaptor including: a first end, and a second end opposite the first end and mateable with a medical tube. The medical tube is insertable into a mouth of a patient. The second end of the separator device is mateable with or attached to the first end of the medical tube adapter.

ACOUSTICAL GUIDANCE AND MONITORING SYSTEM

An apparatus for acoustically detecting the location of a distal end of a tube relative to a body conduit into which the tube is being inserted is provided. The apparatus including a speaker positioned to generate a sound pulse in the tube and a sensor for detecting a sound pulse in the tube at a distal position relative to the speaker, and for generating a signal corresponding to the detected sound pulse.

Intubation System and Method of Use
20230108277 · 2023-04-06 ·

A surgical system includes an endotracheal system and intubation system. The intubation system includes an introducer rod and intubation instrument. The intubation instrument includes: an esophageal tube, intubation tube, endoscopic camera tube, and balloon located distally beyond a distal end of the intubation tube. The introducer rod is insertable through the intubation tube to a position where an endoscopic camera in the endoscopic camera tube has a line of sight to a distal end of the introducer rod. The balloon is movable from a deflated condition to an inflated condition in which the balloon fully occludes the esophageal opening to block advancement of the introducer rod into the esophagus and urge the introducer rod into the trachea. The intubation tube is removable from the patient leaving behind the introducer rod, such that the introducer rod is guides an endotracheal tube of the endotracheal system into the patient's trachea.

Intubation device capable of bi-directional distal deflection and temporary proximal shaping for laryngoscopy, tracheoscopy, and bronchoscopy
11617498 · 2023-04-04 ·

An intubation device and method of use to intubate a subject. The intubation device includes a distally deflectable and proximally flexible stylet having a malleable rod that is removable from its housing in the stylet. The malleable rod and its housing fit together to prevent movement of the malleable rod within the stylet during use. The stylet further includes a flexible proximal portion having a predetermined shape defined by the malleable rod when inserted in the stylet through a proximally located lumen opening, and a distal tip, the distal tip being capable of deflection by use of a proximally located actuator.

TRACHEOSTOMY TUBES AND THEIR MANUFACTURE

A tracheostomy tube has a machine end coupling (2) of a relatively hard plastics and formed with a retaining ring structure formation (23) at its patient end. This is joined with a tubular shaft (1) of a softer plastics, such as silicone, to form a subassembly (7) y a moulded interconnection of the machine end of the shaft about the retaining formation (23). An enlarged boss (12) at the rear end of the shaft (1) forms a forwardly facing wall (15). The tube also includes a moulded neck flange (5) of a relatively soft plastics with a central collar (50) having an internal, rearwardly facing wall (59). The boss (12) on the subassembly (7) is bonded into the collar (5) with the wall (15) on the boss abutting the wall (59) on the flange (5).

Intubation stylets

Certain embodiments are directed to a laryngoscopy device and methods of use thereof, the device having a curved, hollow stylet with a handle and a flexible bougie contained at least partially within the hollow stylet, the bougie being extendable out of the end of the stylet for use in guidance of a hollow endotracheal tube.

Airway inhalant nebulizer device

A nebulizer device aerosolizes (or vaporizes) liquid drawn from a liquid reservoir via a fluid flow path into a nebulization chamber. An inlet port is coupled to an external air supply and leads through a check valve and Venturi nozzle (e.g. a duckbill valve) into the chamber to direct an air stream across an opening of the fluid flow path. A discharge port leads from the chamber to a user mask, mouthpiece or canula, where the aerosol or vapor mixture can be inhaled. A filtered outlet port isolates exhaled material from the external environment. Multiple discrete heating elements may be placed around the fluid flow path to preheat the liquid. If the liquid is sufficiently volatile, heating may vaporize the material which can condense back into an aerosol after mixing with the air stream. A set of check valves direct one-way fluid flow and prevent leakage or spillage of material from the device.
