An elongated rain gutter member is formed with a G-shape profile, and having an eave flange that fits between an edge of roofing material and the roof support beneath it, a generally vertical soffit portion extending down from the eave flange, and a curved rain channel member that curves outwardly and up forming a rainwater channel with the soffit portion, and continuing up and over the edge of the roofing material. A hemmed edge of the free edge portion of the curved rain channel member is fastened to the roofing material and is spaced so as to form channels into the rain gutter between the edge portion and the roofing material. This rain gutter can be used on a tin roof that has elongated ribs or can be adapted to use with a shingle roof or other roof.

The gutter guard may be multi-layered, having a first sheet member and a second sheet member that are spaced apart and having non-aligned throughholes. A gutter guard kit can include at least one gutter guard and a gutter that are operatively engageable with one another.

The method includes the utilization of staples or other objects comprised of copper or other moss killing materials fastened to or adhered or welded to the body or water receiving areas of a gutter guard or areas immediately preceding such.

Ab exemplary system includes a hanger and a strap. The hanger includes a body, a hook portion located on one end of the body, a flat end portion located at an opposite end of the body, and a plurality of slots passing though the body. The strap includes a body, neck section, a head section, and a plurality of apertures passing through the body. The neck and head sections are arranged to engage with one of the plurality of slots of the hanger to support the rain gutter and accommodate the installation of a gutter guard system with the rain gutter. In an alternative embodiment, the hanger includes a clipped portion on one end in place of the flat end portion.

In one embodiment, the components of a modular platform for configuring gutter guard systems include a number of main bodies, a number of front receivers, a number of rear receivers, a number of screens, a number of clips, and a number of brackets.
