Providing a mask for a patient based on a temporal model generated from a plurality of facial scans

A method for identifying a mask for a patient includes: receiving a plurality of images of a patient's face; analyzing the plurality of images to generate a temporal model of the patient's face, determining a mask for the patient using the temporal model of the patient's face, and identifying the mask to the patient.

Sealing cushion for a patient interface device that has a custom cushion support assembly

A patient interface device (8) structured to engage a patient's sub-nasal area is provided and includes a body (22), a cushion (50) and a custom cushion support assembly (100). Patient interface device body includes a sidewall (27) with an upper side (32) including a number of passages (40). Cushion includes a resilient body (52). Cushion body is disposed on patient interface device body. Patient interface device cushion body includes an engagement portion (60) structured to engage a patient's sub-nasal area, and a pocket (70) disposed under cushion body engagement portion. Custom cushion support assembly includes a body (102) with an upper surface (104) including a custom contour (110). Custom cushion support assembly body is disposed in patient interface device cushion body pocket. In this configuration, custom contour deforms patient interface device cushion body engagement portion to correspond to patient's sub-nasal area.

Method of obtaining a 3D scan of a patients face

A method of obtaining a 3D scan of a patient's face includes receiving a request for a 3D scanner from the patient, sending the 3D scanner to the patient, receiving the 3D scan of the patient's face obtained from the 3D scanner from the patient, receiving the 3D scanner from the patient, and using the 3D scan of the patient's face to make, select, or customize a patient interface device for the patient.

METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR NON-INVASIVE OPEN VENTILATION WITH GAS DELIVERY NOZZLES WITH AN OUTER TUBE

A non-invasive ventilation system may include at least one outer tube with a proximal lateral end of the outer tube adapted to extend to a side of a nose. The at least one outer tube may also include a throat section. At least one coupler may be located at a distal section of the outer tube for impinging at least one nostril and positioning the at least one outer tube relative to the at least one nostril. At least one jet nozzle may be positioned within the outer tube at the proximal lateral end and in fluid communication with a pressurized gas supply. At least one opening in the distal section may be adapted to be in fluid communication with the nostril. At least one aperture in the at least one outer tube may be in fluid communication with ambient air. The at least one aperture may be in proximity to the at least one jet nozzle.

Mask system

A mask system for use between a patient and device to deliver a breathable gas to the patient includes a mouth cushion, a pair of nasal prongs, an elbow, and a headgear assembly. The mouth cushion is structured to sealingly engage around an exterior of a patient's mouth in use, and the pair of nasal prongs are structured to sealingly communicate with nasal passages of a patient's nose in use. The elbow delivers breathable gas to the patient. The headgear assembly maintains the mouth cushion and the nasal prongs in a desired position on the patient's face. The headgear assembly provides a substantially round crown strap that cups the parietal bone and occipital bone of the patient's head in use.

PATIENT SLEEP THERAPY MASK SELECTION TOOL

A method of identifying a particular mask for a patient for use in delivering a flow of breathing gas to the patient includes capturing with a visual presentation and interaction component a plurality of images of the patient; receiving with the visual presentation and interaction component a number of responses from the patient to questions presented to the patient, eliminating one or more masks from a pool of potential masks for the patent based on at least one of the responses, utilizing at least some images of the plurality of images to determine the particular mask for the patient from the pool of potential masks, and identifying the particular mask to the patient.

Method and apparatus for selecting a mask using augmented face sketches

A method of assisting in selection of a particular mask from among a plurality of masks, the method comprising: generating a plurality of augmented faces, each augmented face corresponding to a respective mask of the plurality of masks; and associating each augmented face with a respective mask of the plurality of masks.

METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR NON-INVASIVE OPEN VENTILATION WITH GAS DELIVERY NOZZLES WITHIN NASAL PILLOWS

A non-invasive ventilation system may include a nasal interface. The nasal interface may include a left outer tube with a distal end adapted to impinge a left nostril, at least one left opening in the left distal end in pneumatic communication with the left nostril, and a left proximal end of the left outer tube in fluid communication with ambient air. The left proximal end of the left outer tube may curve laterally away from a midline of a face. A right outer tube may be similarly provided. One or more left jet nozzles may direct ventilation gas into the left outer tube, and one or more right jet nozzles may direct ventilation gas into the right outer tube. The jet nozzles may be in fluid communication with the pressurized gas supply.

Mask

A mask is disclosed that has a gas outlet which is quiet and provides for a diffused outlet flow of gases. The outlet is preferably a slot formed between a hollow body and cover over said hollow body. The mask also preferably extends and seals under a user's chin in use.

Customizable respiratory mask

A customizable mask including a conforming seal is configured to utilize the physical process of granular jamming to enable it to adapt to a wide range of facial geometries. The mask may include a frame having a perimeter and a conduit connection, a conforming seal positioned along the perimeter of the frame; the conforming seal may include a sealing surface and a connecting surface, the connecting surface configured to mate with the perimeter of the frame, and the sealing surface configured to conform to a users' face. The conforming seal may further include an outer casing, granular material contained within the outer casing, and a vacuum connection. The mask may also include a similarly configured conforming frame.
