SEAL-FORMING STRUCTURE FOR TREATING SLEEP DISORDERED BREATHING
A seal-forming structure (91) for treating sleep disordered breathing by delivering breathable gas to an entrance of a patient's airways during sleep at a pressure elevated above atmospheric pressure in a range of 4 to 20 cm H.sub.2O, the seal-forming structure (91) comprising: a face-engaging surface (95) that is personalised to a patient's facial contour and to form a seal with the patient's face; and at least one comfort region (75, 80) configured to provide substantially even contact pressure between the face-engaging surface (95) against the patient's face when headgear tension is applied in use for maintaining the position of the seal-forming structure (91) on the patient's face; wherein the seal-forming structure (91) is non-deformable in response to headgear tension or pressurised air received within the seal-forming structure (91).
Mask package apparatus integrated with mask sizing ruler
A facemask package integrated with a mask sizing ruler is disclosed. The package stores the masks of various sizes. The mask sizing ruler comprising a first measuring gauge element, a second measuring gauge element and one or more sizes indicated thereon. The sizes in the sizing ruler are determined by categorizing one or more precisely previously measured distance from at least two points on one or more human faces into one or more sizes based on at least one distance on one or more masks of one or more mask sizes. At least one distance on one or more masks of one or more mask sizes is proportional to the maximum vertical distance of the mask in unfolded state. A system and method for determining the sizes indicated on the mask ruler are also disclosed.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR PROVIDING INTERFACE COMPONENTS FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPY
Systems and methods permit generation of a digital scan of a user's face such as for obtaining of a patient respiratory mask, or component(s) thereof, based on the digital scan. The method may include: receiving video data comprising a plurality of video frames of the user's face taken from a plurality of angles relative to the user's face, generating a three-dimensional representation of a surface of the user's face based on the plurality of video frames, receiving scale estimation data associated with the received video data, the scale estimation data indicative of a relative size of the user's face, and scaling the digital three-dimensional representation of the user's face based on the scale estimation data. In some aspects, the scale estimation data may be derived from motion information collected by the same device that collects the scan of the user's face.
Mask and components thereof
A comfortable low-leak mask assembly for use with Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) is provided to improve patient compliance and/or treatment. The mask system may include headgear having straps that are substantially inextensible and/or micro-adjustable; and/or a mask and/or cushion that includes various structures to allow enhanced/tailored sealing and/or fit at selected locations on the patient's face.
Auto-feedback valve for a sleep apnea device
A device for treating a patient suffering from obstructive sleep apnea or snoring can include an expiratory valve connected to a manifold. The expiratory valve can include a body portion including a feedback port configured to be connected to an air flow generator. The expiratory valve can include a plunger at least partially disposed in the body portion. The expiratory valve can include a pressurizing chamber positioned between an end of the plunger and an end of the expiratory valve. The pressurizing chamber can be configured to receive air from the air flow generator through the feedback port.
PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING PERSONALIZED FACIAL MASKS
A process and related system and computer program product for constructing a personalized contacting interface for a facial mask, comprising the steps of: providing a three-dimensional (3D) reference model representative of a human face; identifying in the reference model a desired contact area circumscribing one or more facial regions; generating a digital design model of a contacting interface, the digital design model having a perimeter configured to provide a continuous air seal along the desired contact area of the reference model; receiving a 3D facial target model corresponding to the face of a subject; performing an elastic transformation of the reference model to conform the reference model to the target model; modifying said perimeter of said digital design model based on the deformed reference model; and using said modified digital design model to generate a set of manufacturing instructions for a contacting interface personalized for said subject.
Cushion member and method of manufacturing same
A cushion member (2) is for a patient interface device. The cushion member includes a body portion (4) having a first end (6) and a second end (8) disposed opposite the first end, the body portion defining a passage (5) therethrough, and a support portion (10) extending from the second end into the passage. The support portion includes a first portion (12) and a second portion (14) disposed on or in the first portion. The support portion is movable from a first configuration to a second configuration responsive to a change in environment.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SELECTING POSITIVE AIRWAY PRESSURE MASK INTERFACE
Embodiments of the positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting system and method provide a PAP mask fitting process to a specific patient that is as automatic as possible and that returns the patient the most appropriate PAP mask fit. The PAP mask fitting is done in a relatively quick manner. Once a PAP mask fitting has identified a preferred PAP mask for the patient, an appropriate PAP mask can be ordered on demand and is quickly, and possibly immediately, provided to the patient.
Custom patient interface and methods for making same
A method of manufacturing a patient interface for sealed delivery of a flow of air at a continuously positive pressure with respect to ambient air pressure to an entrance to the patient's airways includes collecting anthropometric data of a patient's face. Anticipated considerations are identified from the collected anthropometric data during use of the patient interface. The collected anthropometric data is processed to provide a transformed data set based on the anticipated considerations, the transformed data set corresponding to at least one customised patient interface component. At least one patient interface component is modelled based on the transformed data set.
Mask Assembly
A nasal assembly for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a frame having an integrally formed first connector portion. A nozzle assembly includes a gusset or base portion and a pair of nozzles. At least one inlet conduit is structured to deliver breathable gas into the frame and nozzle assembly for breathing by the patient. A pair of second connector portions are removably and rotatably connected to respective first connector portions of the frame and are in communication with respective inlet conduits, e.g., directly or via angle connectors. A headgear assembly is removably connected to the pair of second connector portions and/or the angle connectors so as to maintain the frame and the nozzle assembly in a desired adjusted position on the patient's face.
