System for installing ceiling sheets in buildings
A tensioned panel extended insulation system includes a support structure, a panel support structure and a pair of insulation panels. A telescoping tube extended insulation system includes a support structure and a ceiling sheet material. A rafter clip may be attached to a rafter for attachment of an end of the support structure. A cable arched telescoping tube extended insulation system includes an arched support structure, an adjustable spacer, a cable and the ceiling sheet material. A bar joist extended insulation system includes a support structure, an insulation support structure and an ceiling sheet material. A bar joist extended insulation system may be arched. A system for installing ceiling sheet material in buildings preferably includes either two roller supports or two sheave supports, a middle section, a first end section and a second end section. A rotary strut could also be used to replace an existing strut.
ROOF INSULATION SYSTEMS
An insulation system includes insulation support wires connected to wooden structural members that support roof sheathing. Insulation batts are disposed between the wooden structural members and on the insulation support wire. Portions of the insulation batts are disposed directly under bottommost surfaces of the wooden structural members.
Roofing membrane tensioner, method and system
The invention provides for a roofing membrane tensioner 10 having a base 102 with a hook 36 for catching the edge 22 of an underlying surface 20, a membrane connector 108, and a means for moving the membrane connector towards the edge by applying force inwardly 24 from the edge. The means for moving the membrane connector towards the edge can be a lever 104 operated substantially in the same plane as the underlying surface. The force can be applied at least 50 cm from the edge. The base can have a flat side and a hook side. The base can also have a mount 110 for connecting the lever. The mount can be the fulcrum 110 for the lever. The invention also provides for a method for tensioning a roof membrane 40 towards an edge 22 of a roof surface 20 by securing a preceding tab 41 of the roof membrane to the roof surface, hooking a slidable base 102 having a fulcrum 110 for an attached lever 104 to the edge, connecting a membrane connector 108 between a subsequent tab of the roof membrane and the lever on one side of the fulcrum, and tensioning the roof membrane by applying inwardly 24 directed effort to the lever on the other side of the fulcrum. The invention also provides for a roof membrane tensioning system 10 having a mounting means for positioning and adjusting a base 102 on a roof 20, a membrane connector 108, and a membrane tensioning mechanism for tightening the membrane towards an edge of a roof by applying force inwardly 24 from the edge 22.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PANELIZED, SUPERINSULATED BUILDING ENVELOPES
Panelized wall and roof structures for constructing energy efficient buildings. The panelized structures have a structural layer with insulation, an airtight layer providing a primary air barrier and a vapor retarder exterior to the structural layer, a vapor open blanket layer including insulation and attached to the structural layer via structural screws, a weather resistant barrier provided exterior to the blanket layer and including an airtight, water-repelling, vapor-open fabric, and a rain screen provided exterior to the weather resistant barrier and including a drainage plane for channeling moisture away from the weather resistant barrier.
Support structures for insulation and other materials
A holder for supporting a material such as insulation. The holder includes a support member having a first and a second wire element for supporting the material, with each of the first and second wire elements having a first end and a second end adapted to engage two beams. The first and second wire elements also are coupled together by a serpentine section defining a planar holding surface. The second ends include U-shaped clamping members.
