A retractable staircase having a first side stringer and a second substantially parallel side stringer connected to a plurality of steps. The first side stringer is fixedly attached to a wall and the second side stringer is pivotally movable about the first side stringer between an extended position, where the steps lie substantially horizontally between the stringers, and a retracted position where the steps lie substantially vertically between the stringers. The retractable staircase also includes a collapsible handrail and a gate that are interconnected with the side stringers and the pivoting steps so that when one of them is moved, the other two move substantially simultaneously.

CANTILEVER STAIR ASSEMBLY

A cantilever stair assembly for installation in segments or sections includes a stair tread module including a stair tread plate having a tread hole. An embedded stair tread is inserted into and fixed within the tread hole. The stair tread module may include a first inner wall stair tread support and a second inner wall stair tread support for mounting to opposite sides of a vertical support member. Each of the first and second inner wall stair tread supports has a first plate with a plurality of support-member-engagement holes therethrough and a second plate perpendicular to the first plate and having a plurality of stair-tread-plate-engagement holes therethrough. The stair tread plate is secured to at least one of the plurality of stair-tread-plate-engagement holes of each of the first and second inner wall stair tread supports.

A method for building modular stair system comprises assembling a plurality of modular stair units, each of the plurality of modular stair units associated with a single story of a construction, each of the plurality of modular stair units further comprising a self-supporting structure supported by a plurality of corner columns. A first modular stair unit is located on a foundation of a structure. The first modular stair unit is secured to the foundation of the structure. A second modular stair unit is stacked on top of the first modular stair unit, wherein a first plurality of corner support columns engage of the first modular stair unit engage a second plurality of corner support columns of the second modular stair unit. The second modular stair unit is leveled using a connection sleeve that slides within the first plurality of corner support columns and the second plurality of corner support columns. The second modular stair unit is connected to the first modular stair unit to maintain the leveled second modular stair unit using the connection sleeve.

Modular Deck Apparatus

A deck apparatus for assembly with a pair of opposing brace frames interconnected by a pair opposing connector bases and a deck board top frame having a plurality of deck boards disposed thereon, the connector bases having opposing posts for being received in openings in a lower end of the opposing brace frames ends and the deck board top frame having posts for being received in an upper end of the opposing brace frames, and optionally attaching a stairs riser having a plurality of spaced-apart treads or a ramp riser for extending from a deck surface at a height to a vertically lower support surface.

PLATFORM SYSTEM

A platform system comprising a platform structure having at least one modular platform unit with platform connection features on a side surface thereof to which other components can be connected, the other components including at least two of the following: another modular platform unit, a stair unit, a tower unit, a handrail unit, and a ladder unit. A stair assembly is connected to the platform structure via said connection features, the stair assembly comprising a plurality of stair units connected together to provide a number of steps equal to the sum of steps of the stair units.
