11540509 · 2023-01-03 · ·

In a method of ventilating excised lungs, a ventilation gas is supplied to an airway of a lung and a vacuum is formed around the lung. A quality of the vacuum is varied between a lower level and a higher level to cause the lung to breathe, while the pressure of the ventilation gas supplied to the airway is regulated to maintain a positive airway pressure in the airway of the lung. The vacuum may be cyclically varied between the two vacuum levels. The levels may be maintained substantially constant over a period of time, or one or both of the lower and higher levels may be adjusted during ventilation. The lung may be placed in a sealed chamber, and a vacuum is formed in the chamber around the lung.

The composition may comprise at least two sub-compositions admixed right before dispensing to the oral mucosa. In one embodiment, the system is a pressurized system. In another embodiment, the admixed sub-compositions are atomized. In one embodiment, one of the sub-compositions comprise a beneficiary gas, such as oxygen. In another embodiment, one of the sub-compositions comprise a nutritional supplement, a nutraceutical composition, a pharmaceutical composition, or any combinations thereof.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HYPOXIA

Systems and methods for hypoxia delivery are provided. An apparatus for providing intermittent normoxia and hypoxia intervals includes a breathing component, a normoxia fluid source, a hypoxia fluid source, a valve, and a control system. The valve is configured to disrupt flow from at least one of the normoxia fluid source and the hypoxia fluid source and the control system is configured to cause the at least one valve to switch between delivery of fluid from the normoxia fluid source and the hypoxia fluid source while maintaining positive pressure at the breathing component.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSESSING EXTUBATION

A system for assessing extubation includes a respiratory assistance device, an artificial intelligence platform, and a hospital information system. The respiratory assistance device is adapted to communicate with a trachea of a patient. The artificial intelligence platform includes a prediction module. A method for assessing extubation includes the following steps. Measured values of respiratory parameters of the patient are recorded by the respiratory assistance device. The recorded times and the measured values of the respiratory parameters corresponding to each of the recording times are transmitted to the artificial intelligence platform. The prediction module analyzes the measured values of respiratory parameters within a predetermined time period according to a prediction model to generate a prediction result. The prediction result is transmitted to the hospital information system and is recorded into a medical record of the patient. With such design, a reference for extubation assessment that is more accurate is provided.

A method of controlling a ventilation system includes displaying, on a display screen of a ventilation system, a first bar including a plurality of parameter segments. Each parameter segment indicates a level of a ventilation setting. The method further includes displaying, on the display screen, a second bar including a plurality of time segments. Each time segment indicates a time duration of a corresponding parameter segment of the first bar. As time passes, the display of the second bar is altered based on an amount of time passing. Upon a time duration of a time segment expiring, the ventilation setting is altered by the ventilation system to a level corresponding to a subsequent parameter segment. The display of the first bar is altered to highlight the subsequent parameter setting.
