SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONCENTRATING GAS
20220016563 · 2022-01-20 ·

Gas concentrating systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment, a gas concentrating system and method is provided that includes component heat management. The heat management system can include, for example, one or more air cooling paths. The air cooling paths direct cooling air into and out of component spaces having heat-generating mechanisms. In other embodiments, the heat management system can also include component spaces that are insulated against the heat of heat-generating components. By cooling heat-generating components and insulating other components from heat, reduced wear and extended component life can be achieved. This reduces component failure and costly service to repair or replace failed or worn components. Also, gas concentrating systems and methods are provided for mounting system components with or without the use fasteners and in combination with or without component heat management.

Electrodes for Nitric Oxide Generation

Systems and methods for nitric oxide (NO) generation systems are provided. In some embodiments, an NO generation system comprises at least one pair of electrodes configured to generate a product gas containing NO from a flow of a reactant gas. The electrodes have elongated surfaces such that a plasma produced is carried by the flow of the reactant gas and glides along the elongated surfaces from a first end towards a second end of the electrode pair. A controller is configured to regulate the amount of NO in the product gas by the at least one pair of electrodes using one or more parameters as an input to the controller. The one or more parameters include information from a plurality of sensors configured to collect information relating to at least one of the reactant gas, the product gas, and a medical gas into which the product gas flows.

OXYGEN FACE MASK WITH FILTER
20210353890 · 2021-11-18 ·

A clear, soft and malleable plastic constructed face mask is provided that has an elastic strap that is used to secure the mask onto a patient's face. The mask comprises of a malleable aluminium strip on the top for easy molding of the mask around the patient's nose; a front opening covered with a paper filter; and two side openings covered with a paper filter. The mask provides supplemental oxygen through connection to a Y-shaped respiratory/ventilator circuit or standard oxygen tubing. The mask also allows the patient to breathe comfortably without a supplemental oxygen source. It has ribbed tubing for gas sampling. The mask allows a health care employee to visualize breathing on the clear plastic material. The mask provides filtration of aerosolized contaminants.

DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR DISINFECTING AIR CONTAINING VIRUSES, BACTERIA, OR OTHER CONTAMINANTS
20210353897 · 2021-11-18 ·

An apparatus used to disinfect viruses/bacteria contaminated exhaust air from devices, such as ventilators, CPAP, APAP, VPAP auto, BiPAO, ECMO, and also devices for air filtration used in cars, buildings, ships, planes, etc. is disclosed in this document. A heat source is used to burn the contaminated air at elevated temperatures, such as 100° C., 500° C., 1,000° C., and/or even more, in a confined environment to inactivate/destroy viruses/bacteria carried in the air. The heat sources can be, but not limited to, electrical, gases, infrared, microwave, and Ultraviolet (UV). After disinfection, the exhaust air from the apparatus is then released to the ambient environment, or to the next chamber for further treatment.

PORTABLE APPARATUS FOR OXYGEN DELIVERY
20220008674 · 2022-01-13 ·

A portable apparatus for oxygen delivery includes a receptacle, a mouthpiece and a tube. In another aspect the mouthpiece includes a first fluid channel for a first fluid and a second fluid channel for a second fluid that is different from the first fluid. In a further aspect, the portable apparatus includes a receptacle, a mouthpiece and a tube in which the mouthpiece includes a teeth engagement portion, a lip engagement portion and a lip protection portion.

PATIENT INTERFACE FOR RESPIRATORY THERAPY

Apparatus permit a delivery of a flow of breathable gas to a patient's airways. In one version, a coupler extension may include a seat portion to permit use of a mask with a nasal cannula. In some versions, the coupler extension is configured to conduct the flow of gas to prongs of a nasal cannula. The seat portion can receive and seal with a cushion of a respiratory mask and may have a sealing bevel to promote sealing between the cushion of the respiratory mask and a facial contact surface of a user. In some versions, a nasal interface may include naris pillows to seal with and conduct a flow of breathable gas into a nares of a user. Each naris pillow may include a nasal projection to conduct a further flow of gas. The nasal projection may extend within the naris beyond the seal of the naris pillow.
