A method for preparing an insulating product based on wool includes an aeration step inside a device, the device including a chamber and at least one structure capable of generating a turbulent gaseous flow, during the aeration step. A stream of carrier gas is introduced into the chamber and a wool in the form of nodules or flakes is subjected to the turbulent flow of this carrier gas with entrainment in one sense in a direction A and in the opposite sense in a direction B that is the opposite to the direction A so that within the chamber there is at least in one plane perpendicular to the direction A in which the wool entrained in the direction A crosses the wool entrained in the direction B.

The inlet port is configured to introduce a first additive into loose fill insulation travelling along the path toward the installation site.
Insulation-retaining sheet having integral vapor-retarding membrane
The present disclosure relates generally to an insulation-retaining sheet, e.g., for blown-in insulation, that includes an integral vapor-retarding membrane. In one aspect, the disclosure provides an insulation-retaining sheet including a sheet of mesh having an air permeability of at least 200 cfm per square foot; and one or more strips of vapor-retarding membrane, the one or more strips of vapor-retarding membrane being laminated to the sheet of mesh, the first side edge each of the strips of vapor-retarding membrane extending to the first side edge of the sheet of mesh, the second side edge each of the strips of vapor-retarding membrane extending to the second side edge of the sheet of mesh, wherein the insulation-retaining sheet has a plurality of open zones extending laterally from the first side edge of the sheet of mesh to the second side edge of the sheet of mesh in which no vapor-retarding membrane is laminated to the mesh.
Expanding foam insulating system and method
A method and system for the application of foam insulation onto a surface or into a cavity include a sheet with an aperture, where the sheet covers or partially covers the surface or a cavity with the aperture adjacent to the surface or cavity. A pressure-activated foam generator which generates foam is coupled with the sheet. The pressure-activated foam generator includes a frangible output seal with a ruptured position. The pressure-activated foam generator is positioned so that in the ruptured position the foam has a path from the frangible output seal through the aperture and onto the surface or into the cavity. The sheet is connected to cover or partially cover the surface or cavity, and the pressure-activated foam generator is activated and the foam flows onto the surface or into the cavity.
STATIC REDUCTION LOOSEFILL INSULATION HOSE AND STATIC REDUCTION LOOSEFILL INSULATION INSTALLATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates generally to loose fill insulation installation systems, for example, suitable for installing loose fill insulation to an installation site. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a loose fill insulation hose including a first hose section, a second hose section and a first connection module including a first side attached to a distal end of the first hose section and a second side attached to a proximal end of the second hose section. The first connection module includes an interior surface including a conductive area. The loose fill insulation hose also includes a grounding wire electrically connected to the conductive area of the interior surface of the first connection module. The grounding wire is electrically isolated from the internal surface of the first hose section and the internal surface of the second hose section.
Method and apparatus for manufacturing building panels
A method of manufacturing building panels includes assembling a frame of a building panel. The frame defines at least one cavity and at least one injection aperture in fluid communication with the at least one cavity. The method also includes positioning the frame on one of a base and a shelf of a multi-panel consolidation device having a plurality of shelves, with the shelves being in an expanded configuration, and at least substantially enclosing the at least one cavity. The method also includes forcing the shelves of the multi-panel consolidation device into a collapsed configuration, and injecting an expandable polymer through the at least one injection aperture into the at least one cavity. The method further includes forcing the shelves into an expanded configuration after a predetermined period of time selected to permit the expandable polymer to form a foam bonded to the frame.
UNBONDED LOOSEFILL INSULATION
A loosefill insulation installation has an insulation space, and insulation material in the insulation space. The loosefill insulation material is made from fiberglass fibers. A thermal resistance (R) per inch of installed loosefill insulation material is between 3.1 and 3.9 R per inch. The average density of the installed loosefill insulation material is between 0.6 and 1.0 pounds per cubic foot.
AUTOMATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLOOR AND CEILING UNITS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF MODULAR BUILDING UNITS
A system and method for assembling framing assemblies for use as ceiling or floor structures of modular building units using automation are disclosed. The framing assemblies include trusses that are attached at the lateral edges thereof by a joist including at least one layer of dimensional lumber to form a substantially rigid framework. Cover panels are positioned over and attached to an inner surface of the framing assembly.
Water spray applied loose-fill insulation
According to an embodiment, a method of applying loose-fill insulation within a cavity is provided. The method includes blowing loose-fill insulation particles into a cavity of a structure to install the loose-fill insulation within the cavity and thereby insulate the structure. The method also includes applying water (e.g., water mist) to the loose-fill insulation particles so that a moisture content of the installed loose-fill insulation is between about 2% and 20%. The water aids in retaining the loose-fill insulation particles within the cavity without requiring the use of an enclosure member that encloses the cavity and the loose-fill insulation is substantially free of a water soluble adhesive material that adheres the loose-fill insulation particles together within the cavity.
