Method and device for cutting custom-sized tiles
A device for use in creating custom tiles for installation adjacent an angled vertical surface is disclosed. An example device includes first and second elongated members coupled via a hinge configured to selectively prevent pivoting at the hinge. The device further includes a slide piece coupled to the first member and configured to slide lengthwise along the first member. The slide piece may be selectively operated to prevent movement along the first member. The slide piece may further include a body. The body may comprise a longitudinal alignment element and a perpendicular lateral alignment element that together define a recess configured to receive a corner of an installed tile. The body may further include a spacer configured to selectively extend from or retract into the body. The spacer and the lateral alignment element may define a space therebetween.
Crown Molding Support Hanger
A crown molding support hanger described herein as comprised of a lightweight durable plastic crown molding support hanger that is an essential crown molding installation tool for all sizes of crown molding that may be quickly and effectively installed by a single user. The crown molding support hanger has a support surface that engages and holds a length of crown molding while the mounting member secures the crown molding support hanger to the wall. The support member is adjustable to the different sizes and shapes of decorative trim molding by simply snapping off the tab on the support surface that engages the front section of the molding. The mounting member is removable from the support member by moving the support member side to side and snapping the support member tab at the v-groove, releasing the support member. The mounting member remains hidden behind the crown molding.
Siding straightening tool and method of use
A siding straightening tool includes two arms engaged with one or more ratchets; one or more spikes extending from the one or more ratchets; a release engaged with one of the two arms and to allow the arms to release; and a mold extending from the one or more arms, the mold having a groove; the two arms clamp together, thereby bringing the spikes toward each other; the mold is ratcheted down to straighten a piece of siding; and the two arms pivots via the one or more ratchets thereby engaging the mold and disengaging the mold with the siding.
COVERED OPENING FASTENER
Implementations of a covered opening fastener are provided. In some implementations, the covered opening fastener comprises a shelf and a shaft or one or more spikes.
In some implementations, a method for using the covered opening fastener comprises attaching the covered opening fastener to an edge portion of a first object, such as a first roofing part, and driving the covered opening fastener into and/or through a second object, such as a second roofing part, to thereby attach the first object and the second object together by the covered opening fastener without forming an opening through the first object.
Siding tool
A siding tool for siding installation in building construction to efficiently measure the distance between adjacent siding panels and to install siding. The body of the siding tool is preferably approximately 3/16 ( 3/16 inches) wide, and a depth of approximately two inches (2). The width and depth are used to measure distances according to building code. The body has a lip at one end that extends from the base of the body. The lip is configured to position the siding tool in place by catching the bottom edge of a panel of siding that has been placed. The lip of the siding tool is also configured for a user to position the siding tool upside down and use the lip to draw measurement lines.
Multifunctional flashing device
The present application is generally directed to multifunctional flashing devices suitable for installation of lap siding. Flashing devices include a flashing section, a removable supporting section, and one or more alignment features configured to facilitate positioning of the flashing devices adjacent to an installed course of lap siding. The flashing devices may be fastened to a building substrate adjacent to an installed course of lap siding, at locations corresponding to butt joints of an additional course of lap siding. The supporting sections of the flashing devices are configured to retain and support additional cladding elements in position for installation. When the additional cladding elements have been fastened to the building substrate, the supporting section may be removed from the flashing section.
TOOL FOR INSTALLATION OF FLOORING OR SIDING
A tool utilized for installing flooring and/or siding, the tool providing a tighter junction between margins of the flooring and/or siding through a tool head having a radius that is used to urge the flooring or siding margins into position. The tool is secured to a subsurface and rotated to manually manipulate the radius along the margin of the flooring or siding to cause the material to move into proper installation position, regardless of the uneven and/or warped nature of the material.
Lap siding product with snap break
A lap siding product with a central face cut or medial groove, allowing an installer or user to break the lap siding product in half manually, without tools, resulting in two pieces of lap siding. The central face cut or groove extends for the length of the product, and its depth is a substantial portion of the thickness of the lap siding product. A central back cut or medial groove opposite to the central face cut or groove may be provided, as well as a pair of back spacing cuts or rabbets along the edges of the back face of the product. A pair of machined nail lines on the face of the product assist in determining locations for nailing the post-break pieces of lap siding during installation.
Adjustable bracket for a solar panel
The adjustable bracket for a solar panel is configured for use with a solar panel array and the associated panel rack. The adjustable bracket for a solar panel aligns each of the one or more solar panels during the attachment of the one or more solar panels to the panel rack. The adjustable bracket for a solar panel comprises plurality of rafters and a panel support. The panel support attaches to the plurality of rafters. The plurality of rafters attaches to the panel rack. The panel support prevents movement by the one or more solar panels in the direction of the pitch. The plurality of rafters prevent lateral movement of the one or more solar panels relative to the pitch.
Installation aids for siding and accessories and methods of use
One aspect of the disclosure is a method of installing siding to a siding accessory using an installation aid. The method includes mounting and fastening at least one siding accessory to a surface, placing a siding panel onto the surface, the siding panel having a first side, a second side, a top edge, and a bottom edge, locking the siding panel into place, placing at least one installation aid between the first side and/or the second side of the siding panel and the at least one siding accessory, the installation aid having at least one projection spaced to create a gap between the first or second side of the siding panel and the at least one siding accessory to allow for expansion and contraction of the siding panel, sliding the siding panel over to the at least one siding accessory, and fastening the siding panel to the surface. Various embodiments of installation aids are also disclosed.
