FALL RESTRAINT SYSTEM

The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.

Support Device

A support device with at least first and second support members movable with respect to each other in a direction parallel to their longitudinal axes. The support device having distal ends and the distal ends each including an anchor portion to engage directly or indirectly with a suitable surface in use, the support device including a biasing assembly for biasing one or more of the distal ends of the support device into engagement with a suitable surface in use, and the biasing assembly is located at or adjacent an end of at least one of said first and second support members and between said support member end and the anchor portion nearest to said support member end. The support device is particularly suited to a safety fence or assembly or a worker protection system

Barrier support assembly, barrier system and method for deploying a barrier support assembly

A method of deploying a barrier support assembly, which barrier support assembly comprises an upright support through which at least one hole extends, and at least one barrier support. The method including the steps of locating the upright support against a fixed structure and having a magnet of the barrier support extending through the hole in the upright support to make contact thereby magnetically attract to the fixed structure.

TELESCOPIC OPEN EDGE STAND

A collapsible barrier including a substantially rectangular sheet having a first telescopic post and a second telescopic post pivotably connected with hinges. Feet extend from the bottom of the first telescopic post and the second telescopic post. A first-bracing member and a second-bracing member respectively reinforce the first telescopic post and the second telescopic post in a perpendicularly oriented position with respect to each other. A metallic webbing integrated with the substantially rectangular sheet to provide suitable strength and load bearing capabilities. The telescopic posts are configured to extend and retract to a height of a ceiling with a twisting motion. When the feet are aligned parallel with the substantially rectangular sheet the lip of the substantially rectangular sheet allows multiple collapsible barriers to be stacked. The collapsible barrier is useful for providing a portable barrier without the need for drilling into a floor or ground surface.

SYSTEM FOR THE SAFETY OF WORKERS INSTALLING ESCALATORS
20200095786 · 2020-03-26 ·

A system for the safety of those installing escalator systems having structural supports. A hand-rail is utilized having at least one post, each post made of an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion contains a top rail slot and a bottom rail slot for a cable to pass through, the cable is tensioned at a cable tension mount which can be located along the side of the escalator structure or to the bottom ground surface or top ground surface. The lower portion of the post contains a bottom mount and mid-bottom mount, which mount to the side of the escalator structure at the desired location of the user. This hand-rail system eliminates the need for a worker to wear a safety harness and tether to a cable which restricts motion.

Apparatus and method for a balcony access status alert system

A barrier that is releasably secured across an ingress/egress to a balcony or other elevated platform. The barrier is a fence-style assembly that has a pair of vertical posts that are releasably secured within respective boots secured to the floor. One of the boots includes a switch-activated transmitter that is inactive when the respective post is seated in the boot. If the post is pulled out of the boot, the switch-activated transmitter transmits a wireless signal to a transceiver located on the barrier which then transmits a signal to an on-site controller that transmits respective text messages to authorized personnel informing them of the barrier removal and restoration and will continue to do so until the barrier status changes. The transceiver may be housed within a housing that also contains a visual and/or audible warning at the barrier vicinity to warn those in the vicinity of the barrier removal.

Automated safety rail system

An automated safety rail system for use on an elevated surface or for temporarily blocking off a restricted area, the automated safety rail system broadly includes primary support structures, horizontally extending support structures, an actuator for shifting the support structures between a disengaged and an engaged configuration, and an electronic control system.

Telescopic edge protection post

A telescopic edge protection post arrangeable between a floor and a ceiling, comprising outer and inner tubes, each comprising a bottom end and a top end, the inner tube extending into the outer tube and being movable with respect thereto between an extended position and a collapsed position. The post further comprises a locking mechanism to lock the inner tube with respect to the outer tube in the extended position, and a tensioning unit arranged at the top end of the inner tube. The tensioning unit comprises a tensioning element having a primary and secondary tensioning portions, wherein tensioning of the secondary tensioning portion requires a lower force than the primary tensioning portion, allowing tensioning of the secondary tensioning portion by extending the telescopic edge protection post by hand into engagement with the floor and the ceiling. Further, the primary and secondary tensioning portions each comprise a compression spring.

Fall Protection for Buildings

The present invention provided fall protection for buildings, comprising vertical bars attached to a substructure of building superstructures; fastening means providing a fixed connection between the vertical bars and the substructure; and one or more cross-bars attached to the vertical bars, the one or more cross-bars being attached to at least two vertical bars.
