Device for preventing persons from falling
11013941 · 2021-05-25 · ·

The invention relates to a device for preventing persons from falling, in particular from a roof, comprising a foot plate (10) which can be secured to an underlying surface and which comprises a stop point that can be attached to the foot plate, comprising either a post which projects upwards from the foot plate and which comprises an eyelet arranged in the upper end region of the post or an eyelet which can be introduced directly into the foot plate, in each case for attaching a cable by means of which the person is prevented from falling. According to the invention, a foot plate central region, in which the post or the eyelet is connected to the foot plate, is slotted around the post or the eyelet along at least one first defined circumferential slotted line (18a), which extends over at least approximately 270° in the circumferential direction, such that the central region is connected to the rest of the peripheral region of the foot plate (10) solely via narrow material webs (18b). In the event of a load, a type of joint is produced along the foot plate (10) sheet webs remaining between the slots, and the central region lying within the circumferential slotted line pivots together with the posts secured to the region upwards out of the plane of the footplate on the basis of the lifting force acting via the posts. The posts can thus lie flatly, and a torque is no longer acting on the peripheral region of the foot plate.

The perimeter edge includes a front edge, a rear edge, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. The first lateral edge has a plurality of slots therein. Each of the slots engages a nail extended into a roof. The slots are angled toward the front edge such that an angle between each of the slots and the first lateral edge is less than 60. A catch is attached to and extends upwardly from the plate. The catch is positioned adjacent to the rear edge and releasably engages a safety line.

ROOF ATTACHMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A roof attachment system and methods of using same during the installation, maintenance, or repair of a roof on a commercial or residential building structure. The roof attachment system and the related methods of using and implementing the system include, among other things, an anchor or internal support assembly, and a hook or securement assembly. The roof attachment system enables the installer to utilize at least one internal support assembly, or at least one internal support assembly and the securement assembly to install the roof, depending upon the installation stage of the roof. Upon completion of the installation process, the roof includes multiple concealed internal support assemblies that provide multiple anchor points that are spaced an appreciable distance apart along the ridgeline of the roof. When the roof requires maintenance or repair, the securement assembly can be removably coupled to a specific internal support assembly to facilitate the maintenance or repair by a technician while also reducing the chances that the technician experiences a fall from the roof.

FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM

A module for a fall protection system comprises a structural sheet having a ridge and an attachment panel extending laterally therefrom and one or more attachment sections. The attachment panel can be secured to a structure. The module has one or both of: (i) an anchorage connector attached to the ridge at an attachment section; and (ii) a rail clamp having a sleeve portion and a leg portion attached to the ridge at an attachment section; a rail extending through and supported by the sleeve portion; and a slider supported on the rail. The slider is slideably movable along the rail and has a slider anchorage connector. The ridge may be received in a flashing ridge having a flashing extending laterally therefrom to provide coverage for the attachment panel. A person may be attached to the anchorage connector or the slider anchorage connector via a safety line.

SAFETY POST

The invention relates to a safety device (100) for securing a person to a floor panel (151) of a shuttering system (150). A base element (102) secures a safety post (101). The base element (102) can be placed on a floor panel (151) of a shuttering system (150). The safety post (101) has a personal safety element (103), to which the person can be selectively secured. A securing mechanism has a securing carrier (117), on which at least one engaging element (111) is arranged, wherein the securing carrier (117) is coupled to the base element (102). The engaging element (111) can be adjusted into a securing position and a release position, wherein the engaging element (111) can be engaged with the shuttering system (150) in the securing position in order to fix the base element (102) to the floor panel (151), and wherein the engaging element (111) can be decoupled from the shuttering system (150) in the release position in order to decouple the base element (102) from the floor panel (151).

SUPPORT POST ASSEMBLY

This invention relates to a safety line system for use by a person working at a height above the ground. In particular the invention relates to a support post for a safety line system. A support post assembly for supporting a fall safety line comprises a base; a support post to which a fall safety line is connectable, the support post having a longitudinal axis; cooperating curved bearing surfaces disposed between the base and the support post; and a detent assembly for preventing relative movement of the bearing surfaces below a threshold force, application of a force to the support post by the fall safety line above the threshold force causing the support post to pivot with respect to the base such that the bearing surfaces slide with respect to each other and friction between the bearing surfaces dissipates energy.

Wood anchoring device

A wood anchoring device having a connecting ring defining a closed connecting aperture and at least two ties, at least two of the at least two ties having respective fastening holes at anchoring ends thereof. The device may be fastened to the thin side of a 2N piece of lumber through the fastening holes, wherein the at least two of the at least two ties are on the same side of the connecting ring relative to the axis of a test tensile load applied to the connecting ring in a direction perpendicular to the elongate axis of the piece of lumber. At least one of the ties has a length that is substantially different from a corresponding length of at least one other tie, the different lengths providing for responding to tensile loading by stretching differentially and thereby assisting in equalizing the forces applied to the fastening holes.

Monolithic roof anchor
10718125 · 2020-07-21 · ·

A roof anchor including a mounting portion including a plurality of holes formed therein and an anchor portion having an opening formed therein. The mounting portion and the anchor portion are planar members arranged substantially perpendicular with each other. The anchor portion is disposed along one side of the mounting portion with a bend portion formed at an intersection of the mounting portion and the anchor portion. The mounting portion and the anchor portion form a monolithic piece. The opening includes a lower edge and an upper edge, wherein the lower edge is closer to the mounting portion than the upper edge, and wherein a length of the lower edge is greater than a length of the upper edge.

Fall restraint system

The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.
