A concentration degree measurement device includes: a concentration degree obtainer that obtains a degree of concentration of a person; a drowsiness degree obtainer that obtains a degree of drowsiness of the person; a corrector that corrects the degree of concentration, based on the degree of drowsiness; an outputter that outputs a corrected degree of concentration indicating the degree of concentration corrected by the corrector; a determiner that determines a factor for the corrected degree of concentration, based on the degree of drowsiness and the corrected degree of concentration; and a controller that controls an electronic device, based on a result of the determination by the determiner, the electronic device inducing the person to wake up or concentrate.
HUMAN SIMULATOR
A monitoring system for use with a human simulator for simulating interaction between a human baby and a bonded human and method of operating thereof are disclosed. The simulator comprises a housing having an outer layer configured to contact the baby, the housing having a surface contoured to simulate a torso of the bonded human; a respiration simulation system configured to simulate a respiration motion of the bonded human; and a heartbeat simulation system configured to simulate a heartbeat of the bonded human. The monitoring system comprises a smart device having a first communication interface; one or more sensors for detecting one or more biological parameters of the bonded human; at least one processor programmed with machine readable instructions to activate the sensor(s) and to transmit a signal corresponding to the detected biological parameters from the first communication interface to a second communication interface connected to the simulator.
Systems, methods and articles for enhancing wellness associated with habitable environments
Environmental characteristics or scenes of habitable environments (e.g., hotel or motel rooms, spas, resorts, cruise boat cabins, offices, hospitals and/or homes, apartments or residences, or other spaces or sub-spaces) are controlled to facilitate certain activities of a user in the environment by increasing focus, preparing for sleep, directing movement, masking ambient noise, and improving air quality, among others. Controllable characteristics include, for example, lighting, CO.sub.2/O.sub.2 levels, humidity levels, sound, aroma, and air temperature. Controls are provided for the occupant and/or facility personnel to select activities or scenes, or sensors detect the activity and implement an appropriate scene.
Hearing assistance devices with motion sickness prevention and mitigation features
Embodiments herein relate to devices and related systems and methods for motion sickness prevention and mitigation. In an embodiment, a method of preventing or mitigating motion sickness in a subject is included, the method tracking motion of the subject using a first motion sensor; estimating a vestibular system input based on tracked motion of the subject; tracking head position of the subject using the first motion sensor; estimating a visual system input based on tracked head position of the subject; estimating consistency between the vestibular system input and the visual system input; and initiating a responsive measure if the estimated consistency crosses a threshold value. Other embodiments are also included herein.
HAPTIC RESPIRATION SIMULATOR WITH NOISE REDUCING PUMP SUSPENSION
A haptic respiration simulator includes: a pump unit; an accumulator for reducing noise originating from a pumping action of the pump, the accumulator being in fluid communication with an outlet of the pump; and a pump suspension system for reducing noise originating from operation of the pump, including: a tubular casing for receiving the pump unit at an inside thereof, the tubular casing having a substantially closed circumferential wall that prevents at least a part of the sound waves resulting from operation of the pump to transfer outside the tubular casing; an inner suspension for suspending the pump with respect to the tubular casing, the inner suspension being positioned between the pump and the tubular casing; a pair of end caps for sealing the tubular casing, and an outer suspension for suspending the tubular casing with respect to a housing.
Microchannel Feed System for an Aerosol Delivery Device
The present disclosure provides an aerosol delivery device and a liquid delivery and atomization assembly for use with an aerosol delivery device. In one implementation, the liquid delivery and atomization assembly comprises a liquid composition, an atomization assembly, and a liquid delivery component configured to transport at least a portion of the liquid composition to the atomization assembly. The liquid delivery component comprises at least one microchannel configured to deliver the portion of the liquid composition to the atomization assembly, and the microchannel includes a variable flow characteristic defined along at least a portion of the microchannel, the variable flow characteristic being configured to control the flow of the portion of liquid composition through the microchannel.
MEDICAL TREATMENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR STIMULATING NEURONS OF A PATENT TO SUPPRESS A PATHOLOGICALLY SYNCHRONOUS ACTIVITY THEREOF
The present invention pertains to a medical treatment device (10) for stimulating neurons of a patient to suppress a pathologically synchronous activity of the neurons. The device (10) comprises a non-invasive stimulation unit (12) configured for simultaneously administering at least one acoustic stimulus and at least one non-acoustic stimulus to a patient's body, each of which is configured to suppress the pathologically synchronous activity when being administered to the patient's body.
Sleep Tracking Method and Device
Systems and techniques for enhanced sleep tracking, monitoring, and conditioning are discussed herein. A device may be couplable to, or integrally formed with, a piece of furniture (a “nearable”) receives sensor data from one or more sensors accessible to the device and, based on a determined stage of sleep, may actuate one or more devices for conditioning sleep. In some examples, the nearable may be configured to receive a smartphone such that one or more processors and sensors of the smartphone may be used to perform at least some of the processes. When configured to receive a smartphone, the nearable's cavity may retain the smartphone via a spring mechanism to create an additional button for user interaction, as well as be shaped to minimize an amount of electromagnetic radiation (including light emitted from a screen) of the smartphone, while optimizing sounds output from the smartphone.
