A method of transplanting a desired emotional state from a donor to a recipient, comprising determining an emotional state of the donor, recording neural correlates of the emotional state of the donor who is in the desired emotional state; analyzing neural correlates of the emotional state of the donor to decode at least one of a temporal and a spatial pattern corresponding to the desirable emotional state; converting said at least one of a temporal and a spatial pattern corresponding to the desirable emotional state into a neurostimulation pattern; storing the neurostimulation pattern in the nonvolatile memory; retrieving the neurostimulation pattern from the nonvolatile memory; stimulating the recipients brain with at least one stimulus modulated with the neurostimulation pattern to induce the desired emotional state in the recipient.

The present invention includes an apparatus for transdermal treatments comprising: an openable enclosure for a subject in communication with three or more sources of treatment modalities selected from: a source of ozone; a source of steam, a source of CO.sub.2/Carbonic Acid; a source of Far Infrared; and a source of pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF), wherein each of the three or more sources is in communication with an interior of the openable enclosure to treat the subject transdermally.
MOTION SICKNESS REDUCTION, DIRECTIONAL INDICATION, AND NEURAL REHABILITATION DEVICE
A device for motion sickness reduction, directional indication, and neural rehabilitation that provides three modes of operation. The device operates by providing haptic feedback using transducers that convert electrical signals to a tactile sensation such as pressure, vibration, electrical stimulation, temperature, or airflow. The transducers are located at different locations on the body of a user, and actively change their operation to indicate a direction of motion or rotation to the user through haptic (tactile) feedback. This tactile feedback can be used to reduce motion sickness, provide directional indication, and enhance neural rehabilitation.

A stress factor specifying unit specifies a factor causing an increase or decrease in the stress level on the basis of an action of the user in a period in which the stress level is increased or decreased. The present technology is applicable to a stress control system, for example.
Multi-function headboard for patient support apparatus
A patient support apparatus comprises a support structure, an articulation system, and a headboard assembly. The support structure comprises a head end, a foot end, a base, and a patient support deck to support a patient between the head end and the foot end. The patient support deck comprises a first section and a second section capable of articulating relative to the first section. The articulation system articulates the second section relative to the first section. The headboard assembly is coupled to the second section to be arranged adjacent to a head of the patient lying on the patient support deck. At least a portion of the headboard assembly articulates with the second section when the second section articulates relative to the first section. The headboard assembly comprises one or more environment controls operable to alter an environment of the patient on the patient support deck.

A method for predicting an arousal level used by a computer of an arousal level prediction apparatus that predicts an arousal level of a user is provided. The method includes obtaining current biological information regarding the user detected by a sensor, and calculating a current arousal level of the user based on the current biological information. The method further includes obtaining current environment information indicating a current environment around the user, and predicting a future arousal level, which is an arousal level a certain period of time later, based on the current arousal level and the current environment information. Based on the predicted future arousal level, the method further issues a notification to the user, or controls an operation of a device.
System and method for sleep environment management
A system and method for sleep environment management is provided. The sleep environment comprises a bed within a sleep space, sleep metric sensors, activity metric sensors, and a sleep environment controller. A server comprises a hardware processor, has access to a database, and comprises a non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium for storing program code, comprising program code to receive at least one sleep metric and at least one activity metric from the sleep environment; record the metrics in the database; analyze the metrics over a period of time to generate a user report and one or more product recommendations; and provide the user report and product recommendations to the sleep environment controller as feedback. Such sleep environment management system and method can improve a user's sleep experience, and allows medical and product presentations to be made to the user.
