METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NEUROENHANCEMENT TO ENHANCE EMOTIONAL RESPONSE
A method of transplanting a desired emotional state from a donor to a recipient, comprising determining an emotional state of the donor, recording neural correlates of the emotional state of the donor who is in the desired emotional state; analyzing neural correlates of the emotional state of the donor to decode at least one of a temporal and a spatial pattern corresponding to the desirable emotional state; converting said at least one of a temporal and a spatial pattern corresponding to the desirable emotional state into a neurostimulation pattern; storing the neurostimulation pattern in the nonvolatile memory; retrieving the neurostimulation pattern from the nonvolatile memory; stimulating the recipients brain with at least one stimulus modulated with the neurostimulation pattern to induce the desired emotional state in the recipient.
CHEMORECEPTOR STIMULUS FOR SEDATION STATUS ASCERTAINMENT
A system (SYS) and related method for imaging support. The system (SYS) comprises a stimulus delivery component (SDC) configured to cause a chemoreceptor stimulus in a patient residing in or at an imaging apparatus (IA). A response measuring component (RMC) measure a response of the patient to the stimulus, and a decision logic (DL) establishes, based on the measured response, a sedation status of the patient for the purpose of imaging the patient. An imaging operation can be modified, for instance, halted if the patient is no longer sufficiently sedated.
PAIN MANAGEMENT METHODOLOGY
A pain management system and methodology for preventing or alleviating chronic pain, and/or pain associated with a medical procedure prior to the medical procedure being performed, includes (a) aurally isolating a patient for a chosen period shortly prior to the patient receiving propofol in accordance with step (c), (b) exposing the patient to a repetitive, positive message during the chosen period, and (c) subsequently administering an effective quantity of propofol to the patient. For step (b), the repetitive, positive message may be delivered from a pre-recorded memory card inserted in headphones.
Enzyme sensor and electronic device
An enzyme sensor including a pair of electrodes, an electron transfer layer held between the pair of electrodes, and an electron generating capsule in which a membrane containing at least a substrate of an enzyme to be detected encloses at least one or more kinds of enzymes other than the enzyme to be detected, the electron generating capsule being in contact with the electron transfer layer.
Therapy System, Bed System Comprising Same, and Method for Operating Therapy System
The present disclosure relates to a therapy system, a bed system including the same, and an operating method of the therapy system. The therapy system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes an electrocardiogram sensor to sense an electrocardiogram, a controller to determine a state step based on the electrocardiogram and to generate an oxygen control signal corresponding to the state step, an oxygen supply device to release oxygen having a concentration higher than an oxygen concentration in the atmosphere during an output time corresponding to the state step, based on the oxygen control signal. The controller may release the oxygen having a target concentration corresponding to the state step based on the oxygen control signal. Also, the controller may control a wavelength or a time of a light so as to correspond to the state step.
TREATMENT OF BEHAVIORAL IMPAIRMENT IN DEVELOPMENTAL AND EPILEPTIC ENCEPHALOPATHY
The present technology relates to methods of treating behavioral problems and seizures in a subject having developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) by transdermally administering an effective amount of cannabidiol (CBD) to the subject wherein behavioral problems are treated in the subject.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR NEUROENHANCEMENT TO ENHANCE EMOTIONAL RESPONSE
A method of transplanting a desired emotional state from a donor to a recipient, comprising determining an emotional state of the donor; recording neural correlates of the emotional state of the donor who is in the desired emotional state; analyzing neural correlates of the emotional state of the donor to decode at least one of a temporal and a spatial pattern corresponding to the desirable emotional state; converting said at least one of a temporal and a spatial pattern corresponding to the desirable emotional state into a neurostimulation pattern; storing the neurostimulation pattern in the nonvolatile memory; retrieving the neurostimulation pattern from the nonvolatile memory; stimulating the recipient's brain with at least one stimulus modulated with the neurostimulation pattern to induce the desired emotional state in the recipient.
METHODS FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING MOTOR-RELATED NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS
Methods for preventing or treating motor-related neurological conditions include using ocular light therapy in connection with a conventional therapy for a motor-related neurological condition, such as a drug regimen, to adjust levels of melatonin and/or dopamine in the body of a subject. The ocular light therapy may include elevated levels of blue-green light or green light (e.g., light within a wavelength range of 460 nm to 570 nm, 490 nm to 570 nm, about 520 nm to 570 nm, etc.). The ocular light therapy may also include reduced levels of amber, orange and/or red light. Methods for diagnosing motor-related neurological conditions include use of ocular light therapy to cause a subject to temporarily exhibit one or more symptoms of any motor-related neurological condition to which the subject is predisposed, or which the subject may already be experiencing. A temporary increase in such symptoms may be effected by ocular administration of light including increased amounts of amber, orange and/or red light.
Intranasal delivery of olanzapine by precision olfactory device
Methods are provided for acute treatment of agitation, including agitation in patients with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, comprising administering to a subject with agitation an effective dose of a dry pharmaceutical composition comprising olanzapine, wherein the dose is administered by an intranasal delivery device that provides, following intranasal administration, (a) a mean peak plasma olanzapine concentration (C.sub.max) of at least 30 ng/mL, with (b) a mean time to C.sub.max (T.sub.max) of olanzapine of less than 0.5 hours.
