An adapter configured to convert a rotary motion of a drive shaft for a door lock actuating mechanism into a translational motion for actuating a door latch. The adapter includes a housing with a compartment and a first lever inside the compartment, enables retrofitting of US-style doors with a European style door handle by providing a first bearing that rotatably supports the first lever relative to the housing, wherein the first bearing has a first axis of rotation, wherein the housing has a channel, the channel has a first opening facing the lever and a second opening facing away from the lever, wherein a first channel axis extends through the centers of the first and second openings. The first lever has a hole, configured for receiving the drive shaft, wherein the longitudinal axis of the drive shaft correlates with the first axis of rotation. The first lever further has first coupling means for providing a torque proof coupling with the drive shaft. A second bearing pivotably attaches the lever to a connecting rod, where-in the second bearing has a second axis of rotation, wherein the connecting rod has a first connecting element at the end of the connecting rod opposite to the lever. The first connecting element is moveably supported inside the first channel, wherein the channel walls limit a translation of the first connecting element in directions perpendicular to the first channel axis and enable a translation along the first channel axis.

Toggle latch mechanism

A toggle latch device translates a first push and release of a button to a locking pin translation from retracted to extended from within a housing. A second push and release of the button reverses the locking pin translation from extended to retracted back within the housing. The latch button remains desirably flush with the housing after each push and release. The translation of the latch button and that of the locking pin is angularly displaced by 90 degrees allowing the toggle latch device to employ a unique lever system which includes a buckling spring combined with a reversing hat which forces the locking pin in each of extension and retraction.

A sliding bolt latch as disclosed herein is convenient to use and more reliable than counterpart door locking mechanisms of the prior art. A user may open and close a door with only one hand, but the present mechanism requires both a rotational movement and a translational movement of elements against a biasing force. Such requirement makes opening doors much more difficult for livestock confined to spaces by the closed doors. Also, the biasing of elements into the locking state makes embodiments of the invention less likely to unlock inadvertently in the presence of ambient vibrations.

A lock comprising a latch bolt and a dead bolt, a dead bolt lever to move the dead bolt, a key actuated cylinder with a rotary driving bit, a second turn latch bolt lever to move the latch bolt by using the key, a second turn latch bolt driver as an intermediary between the driving bit and the second turn lever, a spring urging the second turn driver in the path of the driving bit, and a locking mechanism to lock the dead bolt. The second turn driver comprises a follower portion which, upon actuation by the driving bit, moves the second turn driver out of the path of the driving bit thereby preventing the driving bit from being blocked. The locking mechanism comprises a slot having two catches and a spring biased lever mounted on the dead bolt lever to lock the dead bolt lever.

An opening device for a door lock is provided. The opening device includes a driver rigidly connected to an inside handle; an inside shaft designed to rotate an internal latching mechanism of the door lock, the inside shaft having a follower and a through cavity; a first gear engaged rotationally to the driver; an outside shaft designed to be rotated by an outside handle, the outside shaft including a cylindrical part disposed inside the through cavity of the inside shaft, a polyhedral part engaged with the outside handle, and a gear seat located at end of the cylindrical part and outside of the inside shaft; a second gear slidable along the gear seat; an engagement mechanism causing the first gear and the second gear to be engaged, thereby causing the driver to engage the follower, which causes the inside shaft to rotate in response to rotation of the outside shaft.

DOOR LATCH WITH SELF-HEALING

A domestic electrical appliance, for example a dishwasher, is disclosed, in which a door latch is installed in a profile strip of an appliance body. The door latch comprises a latch housing in which, in some embodiments, a rotary gripper and a leg-torsion spring serving as a closing spring are accommodated. In one embodiment, the door latch as a whole is displaceable in the profile strip in the strip longitudinal direction thereof in order to implement a self-healing function which allows the door to close even after the door latch has moved into a closed state without the door being closed. In another embodiment, a housing main part of the latch housing is mounted in a longitudinally fixed manner on the profile strip, but a housing cover of the latch housing is longitudinally displaceable relative to the housing main part, and the torsion spring and the rotary gripper are held on the housing cover.
