20230263545 · 2023-08-24 · ·

An ultrasound catheter with fluid delivery lumens, fluid evacuation lumens and a light source is used for the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhages. After the catheter is inserted into a blood clot in the brain, a lytic drug can be delivered to the blood clot via the fluid delivery lumens while applying ultrasonic energy to the treatment site. As the blood clot is dissolved, the liquefied blood clot can be removed by evacuation through the fluid evacuation lumens.

PULMONARY ISOLATION, VENTILATION AND TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR USE
20230263980 · 2023-08-24 ·

A pulmonary isolation and ventilation apparatus (e.g., device, system, etc.) is disclosed. The apparatus may include a controller, a steerable outer member (e.g., outer sleeve body), configured to hold an inner member (e.g., endoscope) and a handpiece. The apparatus may be configured as a sleeve for use with any inner member or the apparatus may include the inner member. Through the handpiece, a user may position the outer sleeve body over an endoscope within a target region of the lungs. The position may be verified by the user using a camera of the endoscope. The endoscope may be removed without disrupting the lungs and the positioning within the lungs. The apparatus may provide improved ventilator functionality to the identified region of the lungs through outer member and may provide for isolating a selective targeted area of the lungs for treatment.

A bowel irrigation system comprising a container adapted for containing a liquid, a catheter comprising an inflated balloon, a tubing connecting the container and the catheter, a pump, a control unit for controlling a flow of fluid in the system, and a pressure sensor is disclosed. The system comprises means for deflating the balloon, as a response to an assessment of a first pressure inside the balloon being greater than a first threshold value, by reducing the amount of liquid inside the balloon by a first amount of liquid. In addition, a method for deflating an inflatable balloon, as a response to an assessment of a first pressure inside the balloon being greater than a first threshold value, by reducing the amount of liquid inside the balloon by a first amount of liquid is disclosed.

Urine Collecting System Interventions For Improving Kidney Function

Renal and urine collection system interventions are provided that improve kidney function by manipulating pressures and/or infusing therapeutic agents in the renal pelvis of the kidney or kidneys. Setting a vacuum and/or infusing therapeutic agents in the renal pelvis results in increased glomerular filtration rate, general solute clearance, and free water excretion via the kidney through the urinary tract and is useful for treatment of CHF, ADHF, AKI, CKD, and many other conditions characterized by fluid overload by reducing fluid buildup. The fluid drawn from the renal pelvis or pelvises is delivered to an external or implanted reservoir or to the bladder using flow manipulation mechanism such as one-way valves, occlusion balloons, multi-lumen catheters, and other mechanisms. Pumps are provided for use in establishing the vacuum pressures that are either manual or motorized.

A ventilator, including an enclosure; a tubing configured to receive an input gas; a flow outlet airline in fluid communication with the tubing, wherein the flow outlet airline includes an airline outlet, and the flow outlet airline is configured to supply an output gas to a user via the airline outlet; a breath detection airline including an airline inlet, wherein the airline inlet is separated from the airline outlet of the flow outlet airline, and the breath detection airline is configured to receive breathing gas from the user during exhalation by the user via the airline inlet; a pressure sensor in direct fluid communication with the breath detection airline, wherein the pressure sensor is configured to measure breathing pressure from the user, and the pressure sensor is configured to generate sensor data indicative of breathing by the user.

TRANSURETHRAL CATHETER DEVICE FOR BLEEDING CONTROL IN PELVIC FRACTURES
20220134063 · 2022-05-05 ·

The inventions relates to a transurethral catheter device for bleeding control in pelvic fractures. The catheter device comprises an expandable body assembly with at least one expandable body. The expandable body assembly comprises a proximal portion, a center portion and a distal portion. The expandable body assembly is configured to be expanded from a collapsed state to an expanded state by expanding the at least one expandable body. The expandable body assembly is further configured to be inserted into the urinary bladder of a patient via the urethra in the collapsed state. In the expanded state, the proximal portion has a length l.sub.1 and a width w.sub.1, the center portion a length l.sub.2 and a width w.sub.2, the distal portion a length l.sub.3 and a width w.sub.3, and the expandable body assembly a total length l. A displacement volume V of the expandable body assembly in the expanded state is larger than 0.5 liters. The width w.sub.2 is smaller than 50% of the width w.sub.3. The width w.sub.1 is larger than a width {tilde over (w)}.sub.1 of the proximal portion in the collapsed state and the width w.sub.3 is larger than a width {tilde over (w)}.sub.3 of the distal portion in the collapsed state. The length l.sub.1 is smaller than 25% of the total length l. This allows for arranging the expandable body assembly in the expanded state in the urinary bladder such that the proximal portion is adjacent to the internal urethral orifice of the urinary bladder and the center portion is adjacent to the ureter orifices of the urinary bladder, but not in contact with the ureter orifices.

Actuator device based on an electroactive material

A device comprises a plurality of electroactive material actuator units arranged as a linear set. Data for controlling the driving of the individual units is provided on a data line, and data line connections are made between each adjacent pair of electroactive material actuator units. The electroactive material actuator units are controlled in dependence on received data from the data line. This provides a reduced complexity of the wiring when multiple actuators need to be addressed and controlled in small application environments.
