The second moving member is disposed corresponding to the first moving member. The second protruding portion is disposed cooperated with the first protruding portion. The third end portion is connected to the second moving member. When the fourth end portion of the third moving member contacts a carry body, and a first end portion of a releasing member moves along a first direction towards the housing, the releasing member drives the first moving member to move in the first direction, so the second moving member holds the position of the releasing member by the second protruding portion and the first protruding portion.

A cabinet lock includes a latch configured to translate between extended and retracted positions and a lever configured to rotate between engaged and disengaged positions. The latch may be coupled to the lever with a pin in a corresponding slot. When the lever is in the disengaged position the latch may be in the extended position and when the lever is in the engaged position the latch may be in the retracted position. The lever includes a ferromagnetic portion responsive to a magnet within a threshold distance, where the presence of the magnet moves the lever to the engaged position.

The device may be installed at an elevation above the reach of the child, but readily within the reach of an adult user. The sliding door latch includes a latch arm located outside the sliding door to simplify installation. The latch arm is user-locatable in a latched position, a momentarily released position, and a held-in-release position.

LOAD PREVENTION FOR DOOR LATCHES

A latching device may include a latch, and a blocker configured to reduce the operational force used to move the latch to a latch disengaged position when an associated door is loaded with a force in a direction of egress. In some embodiments, the blocker may resist the force in the direction of egress by transferring the load the latch in a manner which reduces resultant friction generated by the latch when it is moved to the latch disengaged position. In some embodiments, the blocker may resist the force in the direction of egress by direction the force away from the latch.

LOAD PREVENTION FOR DOOR LATCHES

A latching device may include a latch, and a blocker configured to reduce the operational force used to move the latch to a latch disengaged position when an associated door is loaded with a force in a direction of egress. In some embodiments, the blocker may resist the force in the direction of egress by transferring the load the latch in a manner which reduces resultant friction generated by the latch when it is moved to the latch disengaged position. In some embodiments, the blocker may resist the force in the direction of egress by direction the force away from the latch.
