Variable flexibility catheter support frame

A guide catheter extension, including a push member having a lumen, a proximal end and a distal end; a tube frame defining a lumen therein, a longitudinal axis, and a proximal segment and a distal segment, wherein the tube frame comprises a plurality of cut patterns therein; and a tongue element extending from the proximal segment of the tube frame, wherein the tongue element is coupled to the push member.

EXPANDABLE INTRODUCER SHEATH FOR MEDICAL DEVICE

Expandable introducer sheaths and associated laser cut frames for the insertion of a medical device into a blood vessel. In some examples, an expandable sheath may have a frame including a plurality of radial expansion bands and a plurality of connecting bridges for connecting adjacent radial expansion bands. The radial expansion bands are configured to accommodate radial expansion and the plurality of connecting bridges are configured to be longitudinally expandable and to impart column strength as a medical device (e.g., an intracardiac heart pump) is passed through the sheath, such as during insertion or removal of the medical device.

LASER CUT HYPOTUBE PATTERNS

A hypotube having a laser cut wave pattern to improve flexibility. The laser cut wave pattern on the hypotube includes multiple portions that vary the pitch and angle of the cuts. The laser cut wave pattern provides flexibility while maintaining pushability further into the most tortuous vasculature. The laser cut wave pattern also provides the ability to torque the flexible hypotube back and forth, with a 1 to 1 response, without stretching the flexible hypotube. The laser cut hypotube may be used in a number of vascular or neurovascular, such as a guidewire or catheter, or delivery of a stent.

Steerable Guidewire and Method of Use

A steerable endoluminal access device, such as a guidewire or guide catheter. The steerable endoluminal access device includes an inner tube within an outer tube, with the inner tube fixed to the outer tube near the distal end of the device. The steerable endoluminal access device includes a releasably detachable hub for tensioning or compressing the inner tube relative to the outer tube.

Instrument for endoscopic applications

An instrument (203; 204) for endoscopic applications. The instrument is able to be guided through a curved shaped tube (201; 202) and has an intermediate cylindrical element (3) with a handling end portion with a flexible portion and actuating means located at an actuating end portion. The intermediate cylindrical element (3) has a first cylindrical part (31; 151) at the handling end portion, a second cylindrical part (35; 155) at the actuating end portion and a number of longitudinal elements (38; 60; 70; 80; 90; 100; 110; 130; 153) for transferring the movement of the actuating means to the handling end portion. The longitudinal elements are separated by longitudinal slits in the intermediate cylindrical element.

Catheter tube

A catheter that has a catheter tube everting inside-out during the process of catheterization. The catheter tube has a plurality of longitudinal protrusions extending from the first end of the catheter tube through at least a portion of the catheter tube, and forming an angle of 0 degrees to 45 degrees with respect to the longitudinal axis of the catheter tube and facing radially inwards, and provides for dilating a circumference of the catheter tube upon everting the catheter tube inside-out from the first end of the catheter tube.

Surgical cannulas and related methods

Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to surgical cannulas and methods relating thereto. In some embodiments, a method includes cutting one or more lines in a tubular member to form a tubular body and a hinge of a surgical cannula. In some embodiments, a surgical cannula includes a fiber brag grating (FBG) reflector mounted to a tendon for deflecting a distal tip of the surgical cannula. A controller is coupled to the FBG reflector and is configured to determine a tension in the tendon based on reflected light from the FBG reflector. In some embodiments, a surgical cannula includes a tubular body including a plurality of apertures extending therethrough.
