BACK DOOR STRUCTURE

A back door structure includes a first arm, a second arm, a damper stay, and a supporting member. The first arm is fixed to an upper section of a vehicle body rear section, and is fixed to an upper section of a back door. The second arm is fixed to the upper section of the vehicle body rear section, and is fixed to the upper section of the back door. The damper stay is fixed to the back door, is fixed to the vehicle body, and biases the back door in an opening direction. The supporting member is fixed to the second arm, is fixed to the back door, and biases the second arm substantially toward a vehicle upper side in a fully closed state of the back door.

Hinge apparatus

Aspects of the present invention relate to hinge apparatus for supporting an aperture closure member. The hinge apparatus is configurable in at least first and second configurations. The hinge apparatus includes a first hinge bracket and a second hinge bracket. A first hinge linkage member is pivotally mounted to each of the first and second hinge brackets. A second hinge linkage member is pivotally mounted to each of the first and second hinge brackets. A latching mechanism is provided for selectively latching the hinge apparatus. The latching mechanism is operable to inhibit movement of the first and second hinge linkage members relative to each other to latch the hinge apparatus. The present invention also relates to a carrier assembly for carrying an aperture closure member; and a vehicle having a carrier assembly.

A vehicle is provided comprising a door having a front edge and a rear edge and an opening mechanism provided substantially at the rear edge of the door. The mechanism comprises two pivot locations configured such that the door opens through a combination of rotation at both pivot locations.

VEHICLE DOOR APPARATUS

A vehicle door apparatus includes first and second link arms each having a first pivot coupling point with respect to a vehicle body and a second pivot coupling point with respect to a door of a vehicle. The vehicle door apparatus includes a coupling length variable mechanism provided on at least one of the first and second link arms and configured such that a coupling length serving as a distance between the first and second pivot coupling points is variable. The coupling length variable mechanism is configured to change an opening and closing motion track of the door.

Automatic door operation

A door assembly for a motorized vehicle includes a door configured to move between an open position and a closed position, a first member defining a first axis, and a first support member pivotally coupled to the door and defining a second axis. A linkage assembly includes a first arm and a second arm. The first arm and the second arm are pivotally coupled to one another, where the first arm is coupled to the first member at a location offset from the first axis and the second arm defines a first slot. A cross member has a first end and a second end. The first end has a first pin for slideably engaging the first slot and the second end being coupled to the first member. The door is movable between the open and closed positions as the first member pivots about the first axis.

A vehicle door hinge structure includes a first bracket, a second bracket, a hinge arm and a compressible check structure. The hinge arm has a first end that s attached to the first bracket for pivoting movement about a first pivot axis. The second bracket is attached to a second end of the hinge arm for pivoting movement about a second pivot axis. The compressible check structure is fixed in position to the first bracket. The compressible check structure is adjacent to and spaced apart from a stop surface of the first bracket. The compressible check structure extends upward away from a surface of the first bracket in an uncompressed state. However, a movement limiting surface of the hinge arm contacts and compresses the compressible check structure during a portion of movement of the hinge arm.
