ENDOSCOPIC BASKET DELIVERY CATHETER

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to apparatuses, systems, and methods for merging an endoscopic basket delivery catheter onto a fixed guidewire. In one implementation, a catheter may include a sheath having a saddle secured to a distal portion thereof. The sheath may constrain an endoscopic tool such as a basket therein, while the saddle may receive a portion of a guidewire. The saddle may include a slit extending along its longitudinal length. The slit may be widened by a working member of an adapter to allow passage of a locked guidewire into the guidewire lumen of the saddle. The catheter may be merged onto the guidewire via the slit and delivered to the desired treatment device without unlocking of the guidewire. Advantageously, access to at least one desired treatment site may be maintained with the guidewire during merging of the catheter.

ENDOSCOPIC CANNULATING DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to cannulating devices and methods for exchanging cannulating devices in an endoscopic procedure. In one implementation, an apparatus for endoscopic operations is described. The apparatus includes a cannulating device to be introduced through an internal lumen of an endoscope via a biopsy port. The cannulating device has an elongated body. The elongated body includes a guidewire lumen configured to receive a guidewire therein, and a slit extending over at least a portion of the length of the elongated body from a distal tip to a proximal position of the elongated body.

An intravascular heart pump assembly can include a rotor with at least one impeller blade, and a cannula. The present application describes various cannulas that can be manufactured from multiple layers of material to improve flexibility, manufacturability, and durability without increasing an outer diameter of the cannula. In one embodiment, the cannula includes an inflow section having a sheet formed of a shape memory material embedded within a polymer and having at least one lateral hole or aperture in the inflow section. The at least one lateral hole is defined by a first hole in the sheet and a second hole in the outer polymer layer of the cannula. The first hole and the second hole overlap so that blood can enter the cannula through the holes.

A medical manipulator system including: a manipulator provided with an elongated portion, a movable portion which has one or more joints, and a driving portion which is disposed at a proximal end of the elongated portion and which drives the movable portion; a medical device having a channel that can accommodate at least a portion of the elongated portion and the movable portion; a manipulation input portion that generates an operation instruction for moving the manipulator between a treatment state in which the movable portion protrudes from a distal end of the channel and an accommodated state in which the movable portion is accommodated in the channel in accordance with a manipulation instruction input; and a notifying portion that notifies a situation in which the manipulator is shifting from the treatment state to the accommodated state.

Hose Line and Method for Producing Same

A hose line includes a sheath extending axially between a first hose end and a second hose end, and has an outer face and an inner face, an axial passage enclosed by the inner face and extending between the hose ends, a radial passage which extends through the sheath and connects the axial passage to the outer face, and a closure which is arranged between the radial passage and the second hose end and closes the axial passage in a fluid-tight manner. The radial passage is formed by a sheath portion which is bent and partially separated from the rest of the sheath along a partition line. The closure is formed by placing the sheath portion onto the inner face and connecting the sheath portion to the inner face in a fluid-tight manner. The hose line can be used in a catheter hose line.

Nasal Flushing Catheter

A nasal flushing catheter, made of silicone latex, thermoplastic elastomer or other soft and elastic material, can be operated by the patients. The catheter has a closed end and an open end on the opposite side. There are multiple side-holes near the closed end. This catheter, when adapted to a connector and further connected to a syringe, can eject multiple strong thin spouts within the nasal cavity and nasopharynx for cleansing mucus and crust. The catheter may contain at least one stylet to improve its controllability. By a given injection rate of 10 cc/sec using a syringe, the average vertical height of spouts can be predicted by the total area of side-holes, the catheter is therefore classified as following: 1. a low pressure catheter, having 3.367 mm.sup.2?4.123 mm.sup.2 of total areas of side-holes to eject 30 to 45 cm spouts; 2. a medium pressure catheter, having 2.381 mm.sup.2?3.367 mm.sup.2 of total area of side-holes to eject 45 to 90 cm spouts and 3. a high pressure catheter, having less than 2.381 mm.sup.2 of total area of side-holes to eject longer than 90 cm spouts.

Heat exchange catheters and their methods of manufacture and use

A closed loop catheter useable for heat exchange is manufactured by forming a plurality of generally transverse bore holes though a flexible, multilumen catheter body, lacing a tube trough the bore holes so that loops of the tube protrude from the catheter body, connecting one end of the tube to an inflow lumen of the catheter and connecting the other end of the tube to an outflow lumen of the catheter. A heated or cooled heat exchange medium may then be circulated through the tube while the catheter is inserted in the vasculature of a subject, thereby resulting in heat exchange between the subject's flowing blood and the heat exchange medium being circulated through the tube.
