MEDICAL MANIPULATOR SYSTEM
20170151028 · 2017-06-01 · ·

A medical manipulator system including: a manipulator provided with an elongated portion, a movable portion which has one or more joints, and a driving portion which is disposed at a proximal end of the elongated portion and which drives the movable portion; a medical device having a channel that can accommodate at least a portion of the elongated portion and the movable portion; a manipulation input portion that generates an operation instruction for moving the manipulator between a treatment state in which the movable portion protrudes from a distal end of the channel and an accommodated state in which the movable portion is accommodated in the channel in accordance with a manipulation instruction input; and a notifying portion that notifies a situation in which the manipulator is shifting from the treatment state to the accommodated state.

CATHETER WITH HYPOTUBE HAVING EXCHANGE JOINT OPENING

A catheter includes a metal hypotube (328) and a polymer outer jacket over the metal hypotube, wherein the metal hypotube is configured to bend with varying flexibility along a length of the metal hypotube, and wherein the metal hypotube defines a rapid exchange joint opening in an intermediate portion of the metal hypotube. A method for manufacturing a catheter includes cutting a rapid exchange joint opening in an intermediate portion of a metal hypotube and a polymer jacket over the metal hypotube, wherein the rapid exchange joint opening facilitates formation of a rapid exchange joint, and the metal hypotube is configured to bend with varying flexibility along a length of the metal hypotube.

Micro-cutting systems for forming cuts in products

Micro-cutting machines for forming cuts in catheters, guidewires, and similar products, are disclosed, including a micro-cutting machine that can directly control the dimensions of the resultant beams being cut into products, and that can capture images of each cut for feedback control and accuracy verification.

CATHETER BODY STRUCTURAL SUPPORT MEMBER INCLUDING A POLYMER HYPOTUBE

In some examples, a catheter body includes an outer jacket positioned over a structural support member. A proximal portion of the structural support member comprises a straight or tapered polymer hypotube and a distal portion of the structural support member comprises a distal support member that is more flexible than the polymer hypotube. In some examples, the polymer hypotube defines one or more openings, through which an adhesive may be introduced between the polymer hypotube and an inner liner of the catheter body.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE

A drug delivery device includes a blunt cannula and a reservoir. The blunt cannula has a cylindrical wall that defines an axial passage between a first end and a second end of the blunt cannula. The wall has at least a first tapered region at the first end to define an opening in fluid communication with the axial passage and adapted at the first end to resist interruption of fluid flow through the axial passage and out of the first end of the blunt cannula. The reservoir is connected to the second end of the blunt cannula

Free end vascular treatment systems

Vascular treatment and methods include a plurality of self-expanding bulbs and a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Joints between woven structures and hypotubes include solder. Woven structures include patterns of radiopaque filaments measureable under x-ray. Structures are heat treated to include at least shapes at different temperatures. A catheter includes a hypotube including interspersed patterns of longitudinally spaced rows of kerfs. Heat treating systems include a detachable flange. Laser cutting systems include a fluid flow system.

Catheter insertion apparatus with continuous visible flashback

The present disclosure relates to a catheter insertion apparatus including a hollow needle body connected to a needle hub, and a catheter that removably fits over the needle body. The needle body has a sharp distal needle tip for piercing a blood vessel wall. An internal flow passage of the needle hub is in fluid communication with the hollow needle body. An elongated housing is connected to the needle hub and includes a lumen in fluid communication with the internal flow passage of the needle hub. An integrated guide assembly is slidably mounted to the housing and is operable to move between a retracted position and an extended position. A flashback chamber is operable to receive a continuous flow of blood before, during, and after movement of the guide assembly between its retracted and extended positions. A safety guard may provide protection from the sharp needle tip.

Deployment tools and methods for delivering a device to a native heart valve

A flexible delivery catheter can be used to deploy valve repair and replacement devices at an implant site for the repair or replacement of poorly functioning native heart valves. Such a catheter can include a flexible tube having a plurality of links. A control wire can be connected to the plurality of links, such that applying tension to the control wire causes the flexible tube to bend.

Catheter assembly with seal member

A catheter assembly includes a catheter hub defining an interior cavity and a catheter tube extending distally thereof. A rigid actuator extends proximally in the interior cavity and supports a seal member thereon. The seal member includes a central membrane, a distal portion, and a proximal portion. An hourglass shaped actuator cavity is formed in the distal portion and receives a barbed end of the actuator. The outer surface of the seal member is in partial circumferential engagement with the catheter hub to define an air path that allows fluid communication between areas of the interior cavity distal and proximal of the seal member. A punch tool is provided to form a tri-slit in the membrane of the seal member.

Injection molded cannula and method for making same

A method, including the operations of molding a hollow cannula to create flash on the cannula at parting lines of a mold, retaining the flash on the cannula, and installing the cannula with the flash in a medical device.
