Stent with streamlined side holes

A stent (100) comprising a stent wall (102), the stent wall (102) having a plurality of side holes (110) extending therethrough, each side hole (110) having an upstream end (116) and a downstream end (118). The stent wall (102) tapers in thickness in a direction towards the side hole (110) at the upstream (116) and/or downstream (118) end of at least one of the side holes (110). Also disclosed are methods for making side holes (110) in stents (100) by milling and making stents (100) having side holes (110) by injection moulding.

Catheter with segmented electrodes and methods of making same

Aspects of the disclosure relate to medical catheters, including electrophysiological catheters, comprising a catheter maintaining at least one electrode including a plurality of electrode segments. The catheter can include a plurality of slots in which the electrodes can be secured so that the electrodes are at least partially positioned within a center lumen of the catheter. Methods of manufacturing medical catheters are also disclosed. In various methods of assembling a catheter, a hollow, tubular catheter made of a compliant material having a very small, micro or nano outside diameter is provided. Then, the slots are formed in the catheter and the electrode segments are positioned within the slots.

A catheter assembly may include a catheter adapter. A body of the catheter adapter may include a distal end, a proximal end, and a first lumen extending through the distal end and the proximal end. The catheter adapter may include a side port, which may extend outwardly from the body. The side port may include a second lumen, which may be perpendicular to the first lumen. The catheter assembly may include a catheter extending distally from the distal end of the body. The catheter assembly may include a valve disposed within the first lumen. The valve may include an outer surface that is cylindrical and may seal the first lumen from the second lumen. The catheter assembly may include a divider disposed with the second lumen. The divider may divide the second lumen into a plurality of openings and may increase a burst value of the valve.

A device has a drainage conduit for draining fluids from a patient. The drainage conduit may be flexible. One or more flexible delivery conduits deliver medication to the patient. The one or more flexible delivery conduits are attached to the flexible drainage conduit. The one or more flexible delivery conduits are detachable from the flexible drainage conduits at at-least one end of the drainage conduit so that the delivery conduits can be peeled off the drainage conduit at the proximal and deployed with the proximal ends of the delivery conduits separated from the proximal end of the drainage conduit.

STABILIZING TRANSNASAL BALLOON SHEATH

A transnasal transesophageal balloon catheter includes at least one compliant balloon attached to the external surface of the tubular body. An arrangement of structures extend away from the internal surface of the tubular body, and exposed probe guide surfaces on the structures form a lumen with a diameter of less than about 15 French (Fr) (5 mm) extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the tubular body and configured to slidably and rotatably receive the ultrasound probe. An arrangement of elongate fluid channels are interspersed with the structures. The fluid channels are in fluid communication with the lumen and transport a fluid between a fluid ingress port and a fluid egress port to at least partially inflate or deflate the balloon.

SPLIT AND SIDE-PORTED CATHETER DEVICES

A catheter for use in medical applications is disclosed. The catheter comprises tubing with a tip hole at one end and an end portion at the other end. Fluid exits the catheter at the tip hole thereof. One or more alternative fluid pathway(s) are provided on the sidewall of the catheter to permit outflow of fluid medication from the catheter to ensure proper delivery of the medication to the intended target area, particularly when the tip opening is occluded or restricted for any reason.

Catheter hole having a flow breaking feature

A peripheral catheter having a catheter tip diffuser for reducing an exit velocity of an infusant within the catheter. Pluralities of diffusion side holes are provided on the tip portion of the catheter. Some examples further include pluralities of annularly arranged, staggered diffusion holes provided on the tip portion of an intravenous catheter to streamline infusant issued from the diffusion holes. An inner surface of each diffusion hole is further angled relative to the inner surface of the catheter lumen such that an infusant within the lumen exits the catheter though the diffusion holes at an angle less than 90°.

A catheter comprising: a shaft (1) having a proximal end (2) and a distal end (3), the distal end terminating in a tip (4); a drainage opening (7) located at the distal end of the shaft, the drainage opening communicating with a drainage lumen (8) of the shaft; a balloon located at the distal end of the shaft, the balloon comprising a first region secured to the shaft, a second region secured to the shaft and an elastic-walled conduit extending between the first region and the second region, the elastic conduit extending over the tip.

Distal valve for a catheter

A method for making a catheter. The method includes forming a catheter tube including an outer wall circumscribing at least one lumen and having a closed distal end, and creating a slit valve in a distal segment of the catheter tube proximal of the closed distal end. The slit valve includes a slit through the outer wall and a compliant segment designed to facilitate inward deflection of a portion of the outer wall along the slit when negative pressure is applied to the at least one lumen. The compliant segment is circumferentially spaced apart from the slit.
