Catheter and systems for providing radial artery access of at least one of a contralateral subclavian artery and an internal mammary artery of a patient for diagnostic and interventional angiography
A catheter for radial artery access to the contralateral subclavian artery and internal mammary artery is disclosed. The catheter includes a preformed tubular hook element configured for aligning coaxially within the subclavian artery from a radial access. The tubular hook element includes a first arm connected to a second arm via a curved element, and a second arm connected, via a second curved element, to an elongated tubular body. Each curved element has an angle between approximately 90-130 degrees. The catheter can receive a second catheter and guide it to further advance the subclavian artery. The second catheter then extends past distal end of the catheter and advances into the internal mammary arteries for selective angiography and intervention. The two-catheter system allows angiography and intervention of the entire right and left upper extremities to be performed depending on the access from the left or right radial artery, respectively.
DELIVERY SHEATH AND MEDICAL DEVICE
A delivery sheath and a medical device. The delivery sheath includes an outer canal and a traction structure. The outer canal includes a connecting canal, a canal body, and a distal canal. The canal body is located between the connecting canal and the distal canal. The canal body includes a first flexible canal, a spacer canal, and a second flexible canal. The spacer canal is provided between a distal end of the first flexible canal and a proximal end of the second flexible canal. The hardness of the connecting canal is greater than that of the first and second flexible canals, and the hardness of the spacer canal is greater than that of the first and second flexible canals. The traction structure includes a first traction fiber and a second traction fiber.
INTRODUCER SHEATHS
Introducer sheaths are described. In one embodiment, an introducer sheath comprises a sheath hub, a fixed housing coupled to the sheath hub, a rotating element rotatably coupled to the fixed housing, a sheath tube fixedly coupled to the rotating element, and a lock coupled to the rotating element. The lock is capable of preventing the rotating element and the sheath tube from rotating with respect to the sheath hub.
CORONARY SINUS MITRAL VALVE ANNULOPLASTY PROCEDURE AND CORONARY ARTERY AND MYOCARDIAL PROTECTION DEVICE
Devices and methods are disclosed for the treatment or repair of regurgitant cardiac valves, such as a mitral valve. An annuloplasty device can be placed in the coronary sinus to reshape the mitral valve and reduce mitral valve regurgitation. A protective device can be placed between the annuloplasty device and an underlying coronary artery to inhibit compression of the underlying coronary artery by the annuloplasty device in the coronary sinus. In addition, the protective device can inhibit compression of the coronary artery from inside the heart, such as from a prosthetic mitral valve that exerts radially outward pressure toward the coronary artery. The annuloplasty device can also create an artificial inner ridge or retaining feature projecting into the native mitral valve region to help secure a prosthetic mitral valve.
Dual lumen extracorporeal membrane oxygenation catheter with single entry port bypassing the right heart and lungs
The invention pertains to a medical device: an ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) catheter which can be used during right heart and lung failure. It pertains to a dual lumen catheter with a single port of entry which when in place bypasses the right heart and lungs while completing the veno-arterial circuit.
Angled surgical trocars
Various exemplary angled surgical trocars and methods of using angled surgical trocars are provided. In general, a trocar configured to be advanced into a body of a patient can have an angled distal portion. The trocar can have a cut-out at its distal end in the angled distal portion of the trocar. The trocar can be advanced into the patient's body alone or with an obturator located therein. The obturator located in the trocar can have a flexible portion configured to bend within the trocar's angled distal portion. The trocar and obturator can be used in a variety of medical procedures, for example thoracic procedures in which the trocar is used to provide access to a thoracic cavity of a patient.
CATHETER
An example catheter assembly includes a first catheter body portion defining a first lumen and a plurality of sidewall openings open to the lumen and configured to at least one of introduce fluid into a patient or remove fluid from the patient. The catheter assembly further includes a second catheter body portion defining a second lumen, a first cuff proximal to a distal end of the first catheter body portion, a second cuff distal to a proximal end of the second catheter body portion, and a connector configured to mechanically connect the first and second catheter body portions between the first and second cuffs and to fluidically connect the first and second lumens. A distance between the first and second cuffs is modifiable by at least modifying one of a length of the first catheter body portion or a length of the second catheter body portion.
BALLOON CATHETERS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE AND USE
Balloon catheters that includes inner and outer elongate shafts, each of which is secured relative to an end of an inflatable member. The inner and outer elongate shafts are secured relative to one another at one more discrete connection locations. The balloon bonding locations are disposed radially inward relative to an outer dimension of the outer elongate shaft.
Annulus plane catheter
A coaxial multilumen annulus plane catheter, including an outer pigtail catheter enclosing one or two additional lumens, each housing either a slidable shaped wire or a second pigtail catheter shaped to fit into a wide range of annulus diameters and/or depths. In embodiments, the device may include a catheter delivery handle with thumb/finger-actuated sliders that extend or retract the shaped wires and are sized to enable side-to-side or radial motion, imparting a torque to the pre-shaped wires which translates the length of the wires to enable individually controlled rotation or sweep of each wire to accommodate different annulus diameters. The delivery handle includes hemostasis controls and flush ports. In other embodiments, a handle is obviated by direct lumen axial and rotational control at a proximal end.
