A catheter includes a hollow shaft, a multi-thread coil body covering the hollow shaft, and a cover member covering the multi-thread coil body. The multi-thread coil body includes a ring-shaped or substantially hollow cylindrical joint part in which distal ends of a plurality of element wires are joined in a circumferential direction, a coil main body located at a proximal side of the joint part in an axial direction, in which an outer shape of a cross section of each of the plurality of element wires is circular, and a transition part located between the joint part and the coil main body, in which a width of at least one of the plurality of element wires widens toward a distal end of the element wire.

EXPANDABLE INTRODUCER SHEATH FOR MEDICAL DEVICE

An introducer sheath for the insertion of a medical device into a blood vessel having an expandable sheath. The sheath has a length, a thickness, and proximal and distal ends. The expandable sheath has a frame extending longitudinally between the proximal and the distal ends, and having an exterior surface and an interior surface that forms an interior lumen along the length of the frame. The frame is configured to achieve an expanded state and a contracted state, the expanded state forming an expanded cross-section in the lumen for passing a medical device therethrough. The frame has a smooth coating about the exterior surface and protrusions extending into the lumen along the interior surface. The introducer sheath can be introduced into a patient in the contracted state, with the distal end of the introducer sheath prevented from moving in the proximal direction by an abutment against a dilator end surface.

ROTATION TRANSMISSION STRUCTURE, CATHETER, AND GUIDE WIRE

A rotation transmission structure includes a coil body formed by winding wires, and a reinforcing body for connecting adjacent wires of the coil body. When the wires of the coil body are connected to one another by the reinforcing body, the rigidity of a predetermined region of the rotation transmission structure in the longitudinal direction is lower than the rigidity of another region of the rotation transmission structure.

MEDICAL TUBE AND CATHETER

To reinforce a layer that is configured to contain fluororesin while suppressing the thickness of the entire medical tube. A medical tube includes a first resin layer that is configured to contain fluororesin, and a second resin layer that is configured to coat an outer peripheral surface of the first resin layer and containing polyimide resin. The thickness of the second resin layer is larger than 0 μm but not exceeding 15 μm.

Dilators

A dilator includes: a hollow shaft having a tapered portion whose outer diameter of the distal end is smaller than the outer diameter of the proximal end; a distal tip, whose proximal end is located at the distal end of the tapered portion, and which is provided to extend toward the distal end direction; and a spirally-arranged protruding portion provided on at least the outer peripheral surface of the tapered portion. The spirally-arranged protruding portion is formed by winding a wire and has gaps between portions adjacent to each other along the longitudinal direction of the hollow shaft. The inner peripheral radius CIDmin of a portion, which is the minimum inner peripheral radius of the spirally-arranged protruding portion, is smaller than the outer peripheral radius TODmax of a portion, which is the maximum outer peripheral radius of the distal tip.

Aspiration catheter systems and methods of use

A method of performing a medical procedure in a cerebral vessel of a patient including advancing a first catheter system towards an embolus within a cerebral blood vessel and a second catheter system towards the embolus through the first catheter, applying aspiration pressure through the lumen of the second catheter; anchoring a distal end of the second catheter onto the embolus via the aspiration pressure; applying a proximally-directed force on the second catheter; and advancing the first catheter over the second catheter towards the embolus while the distal end of the second catheter remains anchored onto the embolus; and automatically applying aspiration pressure within the first catheter upon the second catheter portion entering into the first catheter.

Balloon catheter with venting of residual air in a proximal direction

A balloon guide catheter system including a balloon guide catheter having a catheter shaft that includes: (i) a main lumen; (ii) an inflation lumen; and (iii) an exhaust lumen. The terminating distal end of the inflation lumen and the terminating distal end of the exhaust lumen being in localized fluid communication with one another underneath the balloon while in a non-inflated state. A balloon is disposed about a distal region of an outer surface of the catheter shaft. The exhaust lumen is configured to purge the residual air in a proximal direction and out from a proximal region of the balloon guide catheter.

APPARATUS FOR THE INTRODUCTION AND MANIPULATION OF MULTIPLE TELESCOPING CATHETERS

A delivery apparatus includes a steerable guide sheath. The steerable guide sheath has a steerable portion, a pull ring located in the distal portion, and a pull wire coupled at one end to the pull ring and coupled at the opposite end to a control handle. The pull wire extends longitudinally through a pull-wire conduit. The steerable guide sheath further includes a compression-resistance portion made of metal and located in the distal portion.

PULLER WIRE T-BAR FOR MEDICAL CATHETER

A medical probe includes a generally tubular member with a tip portion coupled to the tubular member. A puller wire is disposed in the tubular member and configured for movement along the longitudinal axis to bend the tip portion with respect to the longitudinal axis. An anchor is disposed within the tubular member and connected to the puller wire such that the anchor has a t-bar. The t-bar includes a generally transverse extension and a ferrule connected to the puller wire. The probe includes a fiber engaged to the generally transverse extension and extending distally into the probe to increase a strength of the anchor with respect to forces applied to the puller wire to deflect the tip of the medical probe.
