The door closer includes an energy accumulator, wherein the energy accumulator is chargeable by manually opening the door and wherein the energy accumulator discharges for closing the door. An assembly for assisting in lifting a tailgate includes an elongated housing extending along a predetermined length, a spring anchored at one end at a first end of the housing, and a connector having a first end affixed to the opposite end of the spring and extending through the housing. In one embodiment, at least three rollers are provided for engaging the connector. The rollers may be arranged in a variety of configurations to maintain the connector and spring in a generally centered location within the housing. In another embodiment, at least two vertically aligned guides are provided. A vehicle for integrating the foregoing assemblies is also provided.

Also, the first link point and the second link point are acted upon by the energy accumulator with force towards one another. A setting contour arrangement with a setting contour and a guide element is arranged between the first lever and the setting arm and the guide element is movable along the setting contour. The setting arm is forcedly loaded in the direction of rotation about the setting axis at least in a partial section along the setting contour by the first lever via the setting contour arrangement.

A damped closure mechanism is provided for controlling movement of a first member relative to a second member, for example the door (12) of an oven (11). The mechanism comprises a housing (14) having a main spring which is engagable with the oven door (12) for urging it towards its closed position and a damper (25) for providing damped resistance to this closing movement. The mechanism further comprises a second spring (29) which is also engagable with the oven door (12) for urging it towards its closed position. The second spring (29) is arranged to act in parallel with the main spring (24), and serves to hold the door (12) shut with spring force.
