Acoustical seal system for doors
11098523 · 2021-08-24 · ·

An acoustical seal system that utilizes a sound absorbing material-based sound seal for the gap or flanking path between a closed door and the nearby surfaces (e.g., the door jam or frame and the floor). When the door is in a closed position, the acoustical seal system may leave a small gap around the door so that the door does not have to make contact with the surrounding structural components. The small gap is an air passage between the two adjacent rooms. The acoustical seal system includes a housing with one or more cavities. The housing is mounted on the sides of the door core or body or on the surrounding components such that the cavities face the small air gap when the door is in the closed position. The cavities are filled with sound-absorbing material, such as an acoustical foam, that is exposed to the air gap.

STRENGTHENED AUTOMATIC SLIDING DOOR
20210047876 · 2021-02-18 ·

Disclosed is a vertical profile for an automated sliding door. The profile is formed by front and rear walls connected by nose and tail walls. The nose and tail walls are thicker than the front and rear walls to provide enhanced resistance to deflection in the through-door direction. The walls are formed as an aluminum extrusion. The arrangement and thickness of the walls provides strength sufficient to withstand high wind loads without the installation of reinforcing members. Fillets may be provided where the walls are joined to lessen the tendency for the nose and tail walls deflect, further strengthen the profile.

SOUND DAMPING DOOR
20210071470 · 2021-03-11 ·

A sound damping door system having a door frame, a compression seal, a door slab, a bottom seal, and a concealed hinge assembly. The door frame includes male and female components adapted to engage each other in a rough door opening between first and second wall faces; and at least one isolation gasket adapted to be disposed between the male and female components. The compression seal is mounted to the door frame. The door slab includes an outer skin; an arched constrainment sheet inside the outer skin; a damping fill material inside the outer skin; and an acoustic insert inside the outer skin. The bottom seal is mounted to a bottom surface of the door slab such that the bottom seal is permitted to move relative to the door slab.

A door frame component is provided. The door frame includes: a front wall, a rear wall, an outer wall and an inner wall; a length of the front wall being substantially the same as a distance between the inner wall and the outer wall; an internal cavity at least partially defined by space between the inner wall and outer wall; and opposing first and second gripping sections defined in the internal cavity at least partially by first and second internal flanges in the internal cavity. The frame has sufficient structural integrity such that when the frame is cut height wise between the first and second internal flanges into front and rear sections, the front section can support a door on its own without the rear section.
