DOOR ASSEMBLY FOR SELECTIVELY INTERLOCKING OPPOSING DOORS
A door assembly for selectively interlocking opposing doors each pivotably mounted at a hinge side thereof to a door frame so as to both open and close in the same direction includes a door handle assembly mounted to one door at a latch side thereof opposite the hinge side and carrying a first plurality of magnets, and another door handle assembly mounted to the other door at a latch side thereof opposite the hinge side and carrying a second plurality of magnets. The door handle assemblies are arranged relative to each other with the first and second pluralities of magnets aligned such each aligned pair of the first and second pluralities of magnets have opposite magnetic polarities, and the aligned first and second pluralities of magnets magnetically couple to each other as the door handle assemblies are brought into contact with each other.
Window frame and/or opening frame
Disclosed is a fixed frame or opening frame, resulting from an assembly of joinery profiles, forming the mullions and the cross-members of the frame, with the profiles of the mullions and the cross-member profiles being assembled by their ends. The frame includes at least one device for compressing, including at least one mechanical connection extending interiorly along an intermediary portion of the frame, the at least one mechanical connection connecting by its ends of supports of the device for compressing, the supports being integral respectively with mullions or cross-members, on either side of the intermediate portion of the frame, the mechanical connection being solicited in traction in order to provide the maintaining under constraint of the ends of the joinery profiles of the intermediate portion of the frame against the corresponding ends of the joinery profiles, arranged on either side of the intermediate portion, belonging to the mullions or cross-members.
Door alignment system
A door alignment system may include a door assembly including a first door and a second door, a striker assembly configured to positively align a first mating edge of the first door and a second mating edge of the second door when the first door and the second door are moved into a closed position, the striker assembly including a striker coupled to the first mating edge and a striker receptacle coupled to the second mating edge and configured to receive the striker, and a rail assembly configured to maintain alignment of the first mating edge and the second mating edge when the first door and the second door are in the closed position, the rail assembly including a convex first rail coupled to the first mating edge and a concave second rail coupled to the second mating edge and configured to engage the convex first rail.
DOOR MOUNTED VEHICLE SEAT
A vehicle includes a body and a door moveable relative to the body between the open and closed position. The vehicle includes a seat fixed relative to the door. The seat includes a seat back and a seat bottom. The body has a longitudinal axis, and the seat bottom extends from the seat back toward the longitudinal axis along a cross-vehicle direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis when the door is in the closed position.
High Performance Fenestration System
A high-performance fenestration system that includes a pressure chamber formed between longitudinally adjacent fenestration members. The pressure chamber is positioned on one side of the thermal break. The fenestration system can be configured so to create a continuous pressure chamber around the closed perimeter of the fenestration between the frame and sash. The resulting fenestration system enjoys significantly better water penetration resistance as compared with conventional high-performance doors and windows. Because of the positioning and structural configuration of the pressure chamber, the fenestration system can be configured to accept different hinge styles including Euro-style and American-style hinges without significant loss of performance. In addition, the system can accept American-style door hardware or Euro-style door hardware.
Adjustable mullion receptacle
An adjustable mullion receptacle includes a two-sided safety block adapted to sit in the well portion of the mullion receptacle. A receiving block face side of the block is adapted to fit into the hollow bottom of a hollow mullion tube. The opposite side of the block defines a smooth safety face that can be used to set in the receptacle well when the mullion is removed for any purpose. The block then fills the well and provides a smooth surface over the receptacle well.
Combination Door and Frame
A modified combination door and frame. The modified combination door includes a door that is hingedly attached to and interlocks with a frame. The frame contains a plurality of cutouts and the door includes a plurality of protrusions, wherein the protrusions and cutouts can align with one another, allowing the frame to rest flush with the door. A locking mechanism containing a lever secures the frame to the door when disposed flush together. When the locking mechanism is unsecured, the frame can move independently from the door. In some embodiments, the frame includes a coating to create an appearance that is consistent with the look of the door. The frame is composed of any suitable material that secures the entryway of a building from unauthorized intrusion.
Electrical mullion receptacle
A door mullion receptacle box assembly includes a toe plate, a channel box and block components. When a mullion is removed from a building/room opening, the toe plate may be fixed in the mullion receptacle box thus creating a uniform threshold across the width of the door openings. Using the assembly described herein, however, there are no large diameter holes in the top of the toe plate and no projections into the opening that could be a trip hazard. The present assembly replaces traditional fixed sill blocks mounted to the floor, or to the top of a threshold to anchor the bottom of conventional mullions. A typical mullion is locked in place with a lock at the top of the mullion. When installed, this mullion is placed over the sill block at the sill and tilted into place and locked into a header block at the top of the mullion. However because the components of the conventional sill blocks project up into the mullion from the thresholds, they become a trip hazard and a liability when the mullion is temporarily removed.
Independently operating motor vehicle doors with an articulating door interface
A door system is provided for a motor vehicle. That door system includes (a) a first independently operable first, door, (b) an independently operable second door, (c) an articulating door interface carried on the first door and (d) a guide on the motor vehicle body. The guide displaces the articulating door interface between a door sealing position when the first door is closed and a door opening position when the first door is opened. A related method is also provided.
