Vertical folding wall partition and method of deploying same
11913269 · 2024-02-27 · ·

A folding wall partition includes foldable panel assemblies. Each panel assembly includes an upper panel and a lower panel. The upper and lower panels extend substantially in a common vertical plane when in a deployed position, and extend laterally outwardly of the common vertical plane in a stacked relationship when in a stored position. A moving mechanism engages the panel assemblies to displace them between the stored and deployed positions. A cover assembly has cover panels. The cover panels extend in a first common horizontal plane when in the deployed position and are substantially coplanar with the ceiling to conceal a cavity. The cover panels extend in a second common horizontal plane higher than the first common horizontal plane and within the cavity when the cover panels are in the stored position.

A frame assembly supporting an overhead door has a horizontal header connected to upright columns or posts with splice assemblies. Fasteners mounted on the columns cooperate with retainers on the splice assemblies to position and connect the columns to the header. Hinge assemblies pivotally mount the door on the header for movement between open and closed positions.

BI-FOLD DOOR ASSEMBLY WITH FOLDING TRUSS
20190093419 · 2019-03-28 ·

A bi-fold door assembly has an upper door section and a lower door section connected by a hinge such that the upper and lower door sections are movable between a closed position spanning the door opening and an open position in which the upper door section is oriented transversely to the door opening and the lower door section is folded upwardly towards an inner side of the upper door section. A truss supported along the inner side of one of the upper and lower door sections is movable relative to the door sections between a first position in which the truss stiffens the door assembly against bending corresponding to the closed position of the door sections and a second position in which the truss member is reduced in overall width relative to said one of the upper and lower door sections in a normal direction to the door sections.

HOLD OPEN J-TRACK LOCKING MECHANISM FOR COWLING
20190084686 · 2019-03-21 ·

In one embodiment of the present disclosure, there is provided an aircraft that includes a cowling having a j-track mounted on the inwardly facing surface and a rod pivotally connected to a stationary part of the aircraft at a first end and moveable within the j-track at a second end, so that, when the cowling is opened, the second end moves to lock into the j-shaped portion and hold the cowling open. In various embodiments, the first end may be pivotally connected to the aircraft by a quick release pin, and the second end may be connected to the j-track by a torsion spring. In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the cowling is a bi-folding cowl having an upper portion and a lower portion, where the rod and the lower portion may include structures for retaining the lower portion in an opened position.

Emergency bi-fold door closing prevention system
12031375 · 2024-07-09 ·

An emergency bi-fold door closing prevention system includes a building having an access opening with an upper edge. A bi-fold door is hingedly mounted to the building wall and includes a plurality of panels each being laterally elongated. The plurality of panels includes a bottom panel having a bottom edge that is positionable adjacent to a floor surface to define a closed position. A safety line assembly is attached to and extends between the building wall adjacent to the upper edge and the bi-fold door adjacent to the bottom edge. The safety line has an extendable length. The length of the safety line assembly extends when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position below a threshold velocity. The length of the safety line assembly is inhibited from extending when the bi-fold door moves toward the closed position above the threshold velocity.

Fold-up window hardware

A window assembly is disclosed that includes a double-hung window aesthetic with an alternative opening procedure and mechanism. The window assembly may include various hardware systems. The hardware systems may include locking portions to assist in locking sash members to a frame and balance assembly for moving the sash members. The window assembly may be formed of selected materials.

Bi-fold door latch assembly and floor anchor assembly

A bi-fold door is opened with a lift assembly having a plurality of straps attached to power driven lift drums. A latch assembly retains the closed bi-fold door secure to side columns of a building. The latch assembly has a latch strap attached to a latch drum that accommodates the latch strap to hold the closed bi-fold door in contact with the side columns of the building. A floor anchor assembly anchors the bottom of the closed bi-fold door to the floor below the closed bi-fold door to stabilize and inhibit bending and deformation of the bi-fold door frame.
