20230243207 · 2023-08-03 ·

Fire protection glazing made of two or more glass panes spaced apart from each other by a spacer. A fire protection material and the spacer are arranged in an intermediate space between the two glass panes. A secondary seal encloses the fire protection material and the spacer in the intermediate space. The secondary seal has a intumescent fire protection property. Exclusively the fire protection material, the spacer, optionally having an optional spacer attachment for attaching the spacer to the glass pane, and the secondary seal can be arranged in the intermediate space between the two glass panes.

Method for forming a closed frame-shaped spacer for an insulating glass pane
11746588 · 2023-09-05 · ·

A method for forming a closed frame-shaped spacer for an insulating glass pane by applying a paste-like and subsequently hardening strand has at a beginning of the strand a ramp in which the thickness of the strand increases from zero to a nominal thickness. An end of the strand's thickness is complementary to the rising ramp on the same path, overlapping the ramp, decreasing from the target thickness to zero, the surface of the ramp forming an interface between the beginning and the end of the strand. The beginning and end of the strand are pressurized on either side by placing it between a first jaw and a second jaw. The exerting surface of the first jaw has a property enabling the material of the strand which comes into contact with the surface of the first jaw to be removed therefrom by lifting the first jaw from the strand.

Device and procedure for extrusion and application of spacer profile of an insulating glass
20220290491 · 2022-09-15 ·

The present relates to a device and a procedure for the extrusion and application of a spacer profile of insulating glass, particularly for a machine adapted to compose the spacer frame directly against one or more glass panes constituting the insulating glass starting from a thermoplastic product prevalently contained in drums, displacing the extrados thereof to an adjustable and controlled distance referred to the margin of one or more glass panes.

METHOD FOR MAKING ELASTOMERIC ARTICLES

A method for molding shaped silicone elastomeric articles from room temperature curable silicone compositions, which are practically not suited to being processed using extrusion techniques, is provided. The method enables the room temperature curable silicone composition to cure in a predefined shape (6) into which it is introduced to form a shaped silicone elastomeric article. The articles may be, for the sake of example, suitable for use as spacers for insulating glass units (IGUs).

SPACERS FOR INSULATED GLASS UNITS

This disclosure provides spacers for smart windows. In one aspect, a window assembly includes a first substantially transparent substrate having an optically switchable device on a surface of the first substrate. The optically switchable device includes electrodes. A first electrode of the electrodes has a length about the length of a side of the optically switchable device. The window assembly further includes a second substantially transparent substrate a metal spacer between the first and the second substrates. The metal spacer has a substantially rectangular cross section, with one side of the metal spacer including a recess configured to accommodate the length of the first electrode such that there is no contact between the first electrode and the metal spacer. A primary seal material bonds the first substrate to the metal spacer and bonds the second substrate to the metal spacer.

Barrier window spacer with enhanced durability

A window spacer may include a spacer substrate having two pane contact surfaces, an adhesive surface, and a glazing interior surface. A multilayer barrier film is in contact with the adhesive surface of the spacer substrate. The multilayer barrier film includes at least two first polymeric layers and at least two inorganic layers. The inorganic layers are separated by a second polymeric layer. The second polymeric layer has a thickness lower than 5 μm, preferably lower than 4 μm, more preferably having a thickness between 1 μm and 4 μm.
