Process for manufacturing insulating glazing

The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a vacuum insulated glazing wherein the glazing is assembled in a single stage by supplying glass panes, metallic spacers and corner and frame metallic seal elements which are brazed onto adhesion layers previously deposited onto the edge region areas of the glass panes.

Insulating glazed element

An insulating glazed element including at least one insulating glazing unit including at least a first glass sheet and a second glass sheet associated together by an intermediate frame that keeps them a certain distance from each other. The intermediate frame includes at least two horizontal spacers and at least two vertical spacers, which are transparent. The horizontal spacers include at least two compartments which are separate and contiguous.

Encapsulated insulated glass unit

The insulated glass unit (IGU) of the present disclosure includes two or more glass panels that are spaced apart in a parallel arrangement. The panes define an interior space that is filled with air or other suitable gas, a fluid or liquid, or a vacuum. The IGU is encapsulated to provide a water-tight seal to prevent or minimize water or particles from migrating into the interior space, or to prevent or minimize heat loss. A spacer with a desiccant can be in the interior space. To preserve the structural integrity of the glass panels during encapsulation, a second spacer is placed between the glass panes. The second spacer can be T-shaped so that a narrowed body portion fits between the glass panes. The second spacer can also have a groove therein for storing adhesive and/or desiccant.

An insulating glass element suitable for a refrigeration cabinet. The insulating glass element includes a first pane and a second pane spaced at a distance from the first pane. The first pane has two opposite parallel horizontal edges and two opposite parallel vertical edges. The second pane has two opposite parallel horizontal edges and two opposite parallel vertical edges. According to one aspect, two horizontal spacers are arranged between the first pane and the second pane. According to another aspect, two vertically arranged flat profiles are secured to the vertical edges of the first pane and to the vertical edges of the second pane. According to yet another aspect, the spacers and the flat profiles enclose an inner interpane space between the first pane and the second pane, and one of the two flat profiles is transparent.

Glazing panel comprising glass sheets linked together via spacers and corresponding production method

The invention concerns a glazing panel comprising first (5) and second (5) glass sheets linked together via at least one spacer (8) which holds them a certain distance apart from one another and, between said glass sheets (5), an inner space (4) comprising at least one first cavity (41), in which there is a vacuum of less than 100 mbar and which is closed by a peripheral seal disposed at the periphery of the glass sheets, around said inner space (4), the seal (1) being a metal seal rigidly connected respectively to the first and second glass sheets. According to the invention, the metal seal (1) further comprises at least one hollow metal tube (11) of which a first end (111) communicates with the inner space (4) and a second end (112) communicates with the outside of the panel, the second end (112) comprising means for blocking the tube. According to the invention, the tube comprises at least one gas trap (113) rigidly connected to the inside of the tube (11).

EDGE SEAL ASSEMBLIES FOR HERMETIC INSULATING GLASS UNITS AND VACUUM INSULATING GLASS UNITS

A method of manufacturing VIGUs and IGUs comprises providing a first lite; providing a second lite spaced apart from the first lite to form a cavity therebetween; and encircling the lites with a one piece band. Spacers of a metal solder alloy or other reflowable material are inserted between the band and the perimeter edges of the lites. The assembly is heated in an evacuated environment, causing the spacers to melt and hermetically bond to the lites, but not until the cavity has been substantially evacuated.
