Vacuum insulating glass unit with viscous edge seal
Vacuum insulating glass (VIG) units, edge seals for VIG units and methods for forming the edge seals are provided. The VIG units include an edge seal that includes a viscous material, which serves to restrict the rate at which gas permeates into a vacuum space defined between the glass sheets of the VIG unit. The edge seals are configured to allow the glass sheets to move laterally relative to one another when the glass sheets experience differential thermal strain and further configured such that viscous shear occurs within at least a portion of the viscous material when there is relative lateral movement between the glass sheets.
VACUUM PLATE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
The present invention discloses a vacuum plate and a method for manufacturing it. The vacuum plate comprises at least two layers of plate, a plurality of support structures with different heights, and an organic film. The plates in adjacent layers are separated by a plurality of the support structures with different heights, peripheries of the at least two layers of plate are connected and sealed via a sealing mixture; and the peripheries of the at least two layers of plate and the outside of the sealing mixture are covered with the organic film. According to surface undulation of the plate, the supporting structures with corresponding heights are arranged on corresponding positions between the layers of plate, and the heights of the support structures match with the spacings at corresponding positions in the vacuum plate, so that each support structure can be clamped by the upper and the lower plate layers, and effectively plays a supporting role, thereby reducing the security risk from damage of the vacuum plate.
Dosage device for continuously extruding and applying a spacer profile of an insulating glazing unit
A dosage device for extruding a monocomponent or a bicomponent polymeric product, particularly for an automatic machine for forming a spacer frame, includes a first dosage assembly and a separate second dosage assembly for the dosage and feeding of the product, which can be activated, in a first feeding step and in a third feeding step, alternately so that one of them provides continuity of flow to an extrusion nozzle while the other one is in the reloading step. The first and second dosage assemblies are activated, in a second swapping step that is intermediate with respect to the first and third feeding steps, simultaneously and jointly, one of them having a flow-rate ramp that passes from the steady-state value to zero and the other one complementarily having a flow-rate ramp that passes from zero to the steady-state value.
Polyurethane sealant based on poly(butylene oxide) polyols for glass sealing
A polyurethane glass sealant is made by reacting a poly(1,2-butylene oxide) polymer with a chain extender and a polyisocyanate. The poly(1,2-butylene oxide) polymer may be used as a mixture with up to 50% by weight of other polyols, including castor oil. The sealant is especially useful as a secondary sealant for an insulated glass unit (IGU).

PROCESS FOR OBTAINING AN INSULATING GLAZING
A process for obtaining an insulating glazing including first and second glass sheets that are held parallelly spaced apart with a transparent glass spacer adhesively bonded to the periphery of the glass sheets to make a gas-filled interlayer space, includes providing the spacer that is substantially parallelepipedal and including two rough faces opposite one another, and two smooth faces opposite one another, assembling the spacer between the glass sheets so that each rough face of the spacer is positioned close to an edge, and against an inner face of each glass sheet, the interstitial width between the rough faces of the spacer and the inner faces of the glass sheets being less than 0.01 mm, depositing, at the external joint lines between the rough faces and the inner faces, a transparent adhesive, the adhesive moving by capillary action to cover the surface of the rough faces, then curing the adhesive.
INSULATING GLAZING WITH DOUBLE SPACER
An insulating glazing includes a first pane, a second pane, an inner spacer frame arranged between the panes, which, together with the panes, delimits an inner interpane space, a surrounding outer spacer frame arranged between the panes, which is arranged on the outward facing side of the inner spacer frame, wherein the inner spacer frame consists substantially of a first hollow profile spacer and the outer spacer frame consists substantially of a second hollow profile spacer, the inner spacer frame and the outer spacer frame are in each case connected together to the first pane and the second pane via a primary sealant, an outer interpane space between the outer side of the outer spacer frame and the first pane and the second pane is filled with a secondary sealant.
Method of applying a seal material in the manufacture of a VIG unit
The present disclosure relates to a method of applying a seal material in manufacturing a vacuum insulated glazing (VIG) unit, wherein the VIG unit comprises a first glass sheet, having a first interior major surface and a first exterior major surface, a second glass sheet having a second interior major surface and second exterior major surface, the glass sheets are placed in parallel with said interior major surfaces facing each other and providing a gap therein between, and a seal material for providing a seal of said gap, wherein the method comprises the steps of providing a glass sheet, and arranging said seal material on a major surface of at least one of said glass sheets by means of a nozzle having a nozzle opening of elongated shape, such as a rectangular or oval shape, providing a plurality of support structures on the major surface of at least one of the glass sheets, pairing said first glass sheet and said second glass sheet so that the surface of the at least one of said glass sheets comprising the seal material is the interior surface, and evacuating said gap so as to provide said VIG unit. The present disclosure further relates to a method of manufacturing a VIG unit, an application system and a VIG unit.
GLASS PANEL UNIT AND GLASS WINDOW
A glass panel unit includes: a first panel including a glass pane; a second panel including another glass pane; a sealing portion; an exhaust port; and a printed portion. The second panel is arranged to face the first panel. The sealing portion is formed in a frame shape and hermetically bonds respective peripheral edge portions of the first and second panels to create an evacuated, hermetically sealed space between the first panel and the second panel. The exhaust port is provided for one panel selected from the first and second panels. A port sealing member hermetically seals the exhaust port. The printed portion is provided for the other panel selected from the first and second panels. The printed portion is located in an area, facing the exhaust port, of one surface of the other panel. The one surface either faces toward, or faces away from, the hermetically sealed space.

The present invention relates to a system for the production of a sealant composite made of a primary sealing material and a curable secondary sealing material, the use of the system for the production of insulating glass or solar modules, an edge seal for the production of double-pane or multi-pane insulating glass or solar modules comprising the sealant composite and an insulating glass unit comprising at least two glass panes and the edge seal.
