Daylight redirecting window film laminates

A daylight redirecting window film formed by a flexible multi-layer film laminate with a total thickness of less than one millimeter and configured to be applied to an indoor-facing window surface of a building facade. The window film includes a pair of outer film substrates flanking a light redirecting core layer. The core layer includes a parallel array of channels defining total internal reflection (TIR) surfaces and linear optically transmissive structures protruding transversely thought the core layer and bonded to the outer film substrates. A light output surface of the outer film substrate which is disposed on an indoor-facing side of the laminate includes a two-dimensional pattern of light scattering microstructures which are configured to spread light at least in a plane that is perpendicular to the channels. The TIR surfaces intercept and reflect a portion of sunlight propagating through the core layer such that the window film redirects that portion of incident sunlight towards a plurality of divergent directions, forming relatively high bend angles.

Blind packaging and methods of cutting window coverings

A package for a size-in-store window covering comprises a box having a first portion that extends for the width of the window covering and a second portion that extends for less than the width of the window covering. The window covering extends beyond an end of a bottom wall a first distance and the head rail extends beyond an end of a first side wall a second distance. A method of cutting a window covering comprises providing a window covering in a box as described above and positioning the box with the exposed portion of the window covering facing down and the exposed portion of the head rail facing a clamp. Methods of packaging a window covering comprise reducing the total number of loops in the window covering, and positioning inserts between adjacent components.

The window treatment includes a top member, a shade unit, and an outdoor temperature indication arrangement. The top member is adapted for mounting at a ceiling of the window frame. The shade unit is downwardly suspended from the top member and being moved between a closed position and an opened position, wherein at the closed position, the shade unit is moved for covering the window glass to control an amount of light in a space, and at the opened position, the shade unit is moved for uncovering the window glass. The outdoor temperature indication arrangement is formed with the shade unit for indicating an outdoor temperature when the shade unit is moved at the closed position.

A method of making a daylight redirecting window film having a layered structure with a total thickness of less than one millimeter and having at least two optical films bonded together. One of the optical films has a first light redirecting layer disposed on a first side of the film and including a linear array of light redirecting structures configured to reflect light using a total internal reflection and defining a parallel array of narrow channels, and a second light redirecting layers disposed on an opposite second side of the film and including light scattering surface microstructures. The method includes coating a surface of at least one of the films with an optical adhesive, positioning the optical films such that the top portions of the light redirecting structures face inwards, and bonding the films together to form a monolithic multi-layer light redirecting film structure.

HEM LENGTH ADJUSTING DEVICE FOR WINDOW BLIND WITHOUT EXPOSED PULL CORD

A hem length adjusting device for a window blind without exposed pull cord includes a base, a first worm shaft disposed in the base, and a second worm shaft disposed in the base. The base is mounted in a bottom rail and has a first hole for penetration of a lifting hole. The first worm shaft has a driving hole exposed out of the bottom side of the bottom rail for engagement with a hand tool. The second worm shaft is meshed with the first worm shaft so as to driven by the first worm shaft to rotate for winding the bottom end of the lift cord. By this way, because the top end of the lift cord is kept still, the bottom rail is raised when the lift cord is wound around the second worm shaft, thereby adjusting the height above the ground of the bottom rail.
