Covering for architectural features, related systems, and methods of manufacture

A covering for an architectural feature having generally horizontal vane elements coupled to and located between generally front and rear generally vertical support members, which in preferred embodiments are adjustable to control the amount of light transmitted through the covering. In one embodiment the covering has three dimensional multi-layered, cellular vanes, and in another embodiment, the one or more support members are formed of a dark color, and the rear support member(s) may be formed of material that is darker than the front support member(s), or vise versa. In another embodiment, the support members, e.g., sheers, have an openness factor, preferably as low as about sixty-five percent (65%) to as large as about ninety percent (90%). Other embodiments include structure, assemblies and methods for controlling the closure of the covering as well as embodiments of bottom rail assemblies. Also provided is a method of manufacturing the covering.

A horizontal blind system includes a plurality of elongate members and a plurality of support rungs. Each support rung extends along an end region of a respective one of the plurality of elongate members. A pair of outer sleeves extend between adjacent ones of the plurality of support rungs, with each outer sleeve defining an inner opening extending along a length thereof. A pair of lift cables extend through a respective inner openings of the pair of outer sleeves such that a majority of each lift cable is concealed by a respective outer sleeve. The pair of lift cables are moveable relative to the pair of outer sleeves between a stowed configuration and a deployed configuration, with a distance between at least one adjacent pair of the plurality of support rungs decreasing as the pair of lift cables transition from the deployed configuration toward the stowed configuration.

BULLET PROOF BARRIERS

An anti-ballistic protection system for protecting a space in a building or vehicle comprising a protective barrier including one or more sheets of a laminated material having a plurality of layers of lightweight, flexible, ballistic resistant material such as woven sheets which are secured together using a glue, heat weld, or stitching. The system may include an automated control system operably configured to cause a change in state of the barrier from a retracted state to a protective deployed state, which may include a sensing system operably configured to detect a threatening event, wherein the sensing system upon sensing the threatening event triggers the barrier to transition from the retracted state to the deployed protective state such that in the protective state, the barriers are adapted to be resistant to penetration by high-speed ballistic objects such as bullets.

Window blind

A window blind includes a first rail, a second rail, a plurality of slats, a modulation mechanism, and an adjustment unit. The modulation mechanism includes a modulation shaft which can drive two warps of the ladder tape to make a relative movement in a vertical direction, whereby to modulate the slats to turn. When the slats are turned from a first position to a second position, the adjustment unit moves a rear cord which is used to move the second rail, whereby to change a length of a segment of the rear cord between a bottom edge of the first rail and a top edge of the second rail. In this way, the second rail could be turned along with the slats which are driven by the modulation shaft, and the problem of light leakage could be improved.
