THROUGH TIP FOR CATHETER

Catheter having an elongate tubular shaft including an inflation lumen and a guidewire lumen defined therein, the guidewire lumen extending along at least a distal length of an inner tubular member of the elongate tubular shaft. The catheter includes a distal tip member having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the distal tip member is monolithic and the proximal end of the distal tip member is secured to a distal end of the inner tubular member. The catheter includes a balloon having a proximal portion and a distal portion, the proximal portion of the balloon sealingly coupled to the distal portion of the elongate tubular shaft. The distal portion of the balloon is sealingly coupled to the distal tip member and the balloon defines an inner chamber in communication with the inflation lumen, wherein the proximal end of the distal tip member is disposed within the inner chamber.

A low profile occlusion catheter having a guiding atraumatic tip that prevents entry of the balloon into collateral vessels. The occlusion catheter system is particularly well suited for use in vascular occlusion and includes a pressure monitoring line to monitor the degree and state of occlusion.

Intra-Balloon Deflection Mechanism for Enhanced Balloon Maneuverability

A medical instrument includes an expandable balloon, an intra-balloon deflection assembly, and one or more puller wires. The expandable balloon is coupled to a distal end of a shaft for insertion into a body of a patient. The intra-balloon deflection assembly is also coupled to the distal end of the shaft, and includes a distal section of the shaft which extends partially through the expandable balloon and includes (i) an elastic element coupled to a proximal side of the expandable balloon and configured to be bent relative to a longitudinal axis of the shaft, and (ii) a rigid element coupled to a distal side of the expandable balloon. The one or more puller wires are coupled to the rigid element and are configured to bend the elastic element, thereby deflecting the expandable balloon.

CATHETER

A catheter according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a mesh member, a first hollow shaft, a front end tip, a guiding film, a second hollow shaft, and a core wire. The mesh member has a tubular shape and is radially expandable and contractable. The guiding film is disposed on the mesh member and has a front end located between a base end of the front end tip and a front end of the first hollow shaft. A thickness of the front end of the guiding film is larger than a thickness of a portion where a thickness of the guiding film is the smallest.

A balloon catheter and method for manufacturing are disclosed in which the fracturing of the vicinity of a proximal opening portion formed by an inner shaft can be prevented. A distal side of an inner shaft included by a balloon catheter is disposed in a lumen of an outer distal shaft, and a proximal side of the inner shaft is disposed on an outer surface of an outer proximal shaft, and the inner shaft forms a proximal opening portion which opens on an outer surface side of the outer proximal shaft. The inner shaft has a first region and a second region disposed on a proximal side of the first region. The first region is fixed to the outer surface of the outer proximal shaft. The second region is not fixed to the outer surface of the outer proximal shaft.

Balloon catheters that includes inner and outer elongate shafts, each of which is secured relative to an end of an inflatable member. The inner and outer elongate shafts are secured relative to one another at one more discrete connection locations. The balloon bonding locations are disposed radially inward relative to an outer dimension of the outer elongate shaft.

MEDICAL DEVICES AND RELATED METHODS

Balloon catheters are described, including a balloon catheter that includes an inflatable balloon and a braiding positioned on an exterior surface of the inflatable balloon. The inflatable balloon includes an intermediate portion, a distal waist, and a transition portion between the intermediate portion and the distal waist. At least a portion of the transition portion has a cone angle of at least 40 degrees. The braiding includes a plurality of threads, and a spacing between adjacent threads of the plurality of threads over the distal waist is smaller than a spacing between adjacent threads of the plurality of threads over the intermediate portion. A spacing between adjacent threads of the plurality of threads over the transition portion gradually transitions over the transition portion from the spacing between adjacent threads over the intermediate portion to the spacing between adjacent threads over the distal waist.

The present disclosure provides double-lumen closure balloon catheter, including an inner tube and an outer tube. A distal end of the inner tube extends from a distal end of the outer tube, the inner tube is provided at its distal end with a tubular hydrophobic tip through which air passes, a cavity of the hydrophobic tip is in communication with a cavity of the inner tube, the outer tube is provided at its distal end with an expandable or shrinkable balloon, a proximal end of the balloon is hermetically coupled to the distal end of the outer tube, a distal end of the balloon is hermetically coupled to the hydrophobic tip, and a channel in communication with an inner cavity of the balloon is arranged between the inner tube and the outer tube. The present disclosure further provides a using method thereof. As compared with the related art, the liquid is injected into the channel so as to push air in the inner cavity of the balloon and the channel to the hydrophobic tip and then discharge air in the cavity of the hydrophobic tip through the wall of the hydrophobic tip. As a result, it is able to prevent the balloon from being damaged, and facilitate the operation, thereby to reduce the time for the surgery.
