Curvilinear sealing system
11421487 · 2022-08-23 · ·

A sealing system connecting first and second tubular members includes a first curvilinear sealing surface on the first tubular member and a second curvilinear sealing surface on the second tubular member. Both the first and second curvilinear sealing surfaces are disposed between two sets of threading on the respective first and second tubular members. When the first and second tubular members are in a connected configuration, the first and second curvilinear sealing surfaces contact and interfere to form an annular curvilinear center seal. A relief pocket may be disposed adjacent to the first and/or second curvilinear sealing surfaces to contain excess lubricant between the first and second tubular members.

20220282580 · 2022-09-08 ·

The disclosure relates to a thread formation and to a downhole tool comprising a hollow tubular pipe section having an end on which the thread formation is provided. The thread formation comprises a first thread having a first thread start and a second thread having a second thread start, wherein the first thread start is operatively rotationally in advance of the second thread start. Accordingly, the first thread is configured to engage at least partially with a complementary thread formation on another downhole tool before the second thread engages with the complementary thread formation.

Threaded joint for steel pipes

The male thread part is divided into a first region on the free end side of the pin, and a second region on the tubular side of the pin along a tube axis direction. The taper ratio of the first region is greater than the taper ratio of the second region. The taper ratio of the first region is greater than the taper ratio of the female thread part. The taper ratio of the second region is equal to or greater than the taper ratio of the female thread part.

The box 3 has a box critical cross section BCCS located near an end of the first female-threaded section 33 and a box intermediate critical cross section BICCS located near an end of the second female-threaded section 36.

The pin 2 and the box 3 satisfy the following relationships:

PICCSA+BICCSA>BCCSA, and

0.70≤PICCSA/BICCSA≤0.95.

Double-shouldered connection for drilling tubulars with large inside diameter
11391098 · 2022-07-19 · ·

A threaded connection for drilling tubulars includes a tubular box section having a sidewall. The box section has a tapered box portion of an inner surface of the sidewall between a first end and a second end. The tapered box portion has internal threads, a first torque shoulder on a first side of the tapered box portion, and a second shoulder on a second side of the tapered box portion. A threaded collar having internal collar threads is positioned between the second end and the second shoulder. A threaded insert having a tubular body with an inner surface and an outer surface having external insert threads is configured for threadably connecting to the internal collar threads. A direction of the internal threads of the tapered box portion is opposite to a direction of the internal collar threads and the external insert threads.

VARIABLE-LENGTH AXIAL LINKAGE FOR TUBULAR RUNNING TOOLS
20220316284 · 2022-10-06 ·

An axial linkage acting between the main body and the gripping assembly of a tool for gripping tubular workpieces includes a drive cam body that coaxially engages an intermediate cam body via a drive thread, with the intermediate cam body coaxially engaging a driven cam body via a driven thread, and with the drive thread and the driven thread having opposite orientations. The linkage includes a latch mechanism for preventing relative axial displacement of the drive cam body and the driven cam body. In operation while unlatched, the linkage converts bi-directional relative rotation into relative axial movement of the drive cam body and the driven cam body, thus increasing or decreasing the overall length of the linkage according to the rotational direction. The linkage can be re-latched using any of multiple operational sequences.

Coupling

A non-frustoconical coupling provides a mechanical connection used in fluid transport for hydrocarbon recovery operations.

CURVILINEAR SEALING SYSTEM

Threaded connection for steel pipe

A threaded connection for steel pipes is provided that exhibits improved sealability against the external pressure while maintaining the sealability against the internal pressure. A threaded connection for steel pipes includes a pin and a box. The pin includes a nose, a tapered inner male thread, a tapered outer male thread, a pin inner sealing surface, a pin intermediate shoulder surface, a pin intermediate sealing surface, and a pin annular portion.
