Portable seafloor drill rig for submersible for multi-point core drilling
The present disclosure provides a portable seafloor drill rig for a submersible for multi-point core drilling, including a power head, a reduction gear box, an emergency jettison device, a drilling tool, and a temperature and pressure-retaining device. a water supply connector and the power head are arrange on a top plate of the reduction gear box. An output shaft of the power head is connected to an input shaft of the reduction gear box, and an output shaft of the reduction gear box is provided with a central hole, which is in communication with a water inlet hole of the water supply connector. An output shaft of the reduction gear box is connected to the emergency jettison device, and the temperature and pressure-retaining device can perform temperature and pressure-retaining storage of the core drilled by the drilling tool.
Coupling for rods
A cold worked and spinodally-hardened copper alloy comprising from about 8 to about 20 wt % nickel, and from about 5 to about 11 wt % tin, the remaining balance being copper, and having a 0.2% offset yield strength of at least 75 ksi, is used to form a sucker rod coupling or subcoupling. Each coupling is formed from a core having two ends, each end having an internal thread. These box ends engage the pin of a sucker rod or other rod. The exterior surface of the core includes grooves running between the two ends.
Drill rod or adaptor with strengthened spigot coupling
An elongate component, such as a drill rod or adaptor, forms part of a drill string having a shoulder contact male spigot coupling. The male spigot includes a non-threaded shank and a threaded section in which an axial length of the non-threaded shank is provided at a predetermined minimum relative to an outside diameter of the spigot at the threaded section.
Drill string rod
A drill string rod includes an elongate central rod portion. The central rod portion has a hollow-cylindrical shape with an inner first diameter (d.sub.rod) and an outer second diameter (D.sub.rod). The male end includes a spigot having a base projecting axially from a shoulder that axially separates the spigot and the central rod portion. The female end has a sleeve portion that fits to the spigot. An inner thread of the sleeve portion is attachable to an outer thread of the base of the spigot of a further drill string rod. In a radial plane to the longitudinal axis of the drill string rod, the base of the spigot is defined by an outer third diameter (D.sub.spigot) and an inner fourth diameter (d.sub.spigot) and the sleeve portion is defined by an outer fifth diameter (D.sub.sleeve) and an inner sixth diameter (d.sub.sleeve), wherein the second diameter (D.sub.rod) is >60 mm.
DOWNHOLE TOOL FOR CONNECTING WITH A CONVEYANCE LINE
A downhole tool for connecting with a conveyance line. The downhole tool may be or comprise a connector assembly operable to connect to the line. The connector assembly may include a first connector, a second connector, a latching member, and a rotatable member. The first connector and the second connector may be configured to accommodate the line therebetween. The latching member may be latched against the first connector. The rotatable member may be operatively connected with the latching member such that rotation of the rotatable member with respect to the latching member causes relative axial movement between the latching member and the rotatable member thereby forcing the first connector and the second connector toward each other to compress the line therebetween to therefore connect the connector assembly to the line.
Downhole coupon holder
A first type of coupon holder includes an elongated core that is axially aligned with a coupon holder axis and an external surface that circumscribes the elongated core. The external surface defines coupon mounting surfaces with different radial orientations relative to the coupon holder axis. The coupon mounting surfaces are circumferentially aligned around the elongated core and have geometric centers with the same axial position along the coupon holder axis. A second type of coupon holder includes an elongated support structure that is axially aligned with a coupon holder axis and a coupon holder body positioned to have an end face in a plane transverse to the coupon holder axis. The coupon holder body has a plurality of slots to receive end portions of coupons. The slots are in a circular arrangement around the coupon holder axis and position coupons in parallel to the coupon holder axis.
Couplings for well pumping components
A coupling for joining a downhole pump to a sucker rod string is disclosed. The coupling includes a core having a first end, a central portion, and a second end. The first end and the second end each have an end surface. The first end tapers linearly inwards from the central portion to the first end surface. The second end has a rounded edge along the second end surface. The coupling is made from a spinodally-hardened copper-nickel-tin alloy and has a sliding coefficient of friction of less than 0.4 when measured against carbon steel.
SHEAR COUPLING FOR SUCKER ROD STRING
The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to a shear pin including a cylindrical shape positioned along a vertical axis having a first end having a common diameter with a second end; the first end and containing a first clutch at a point along the vertical axis that is furthest from the second end, the first clutch containing one of a recessing shape and a protruding shape; (c) the second end containing a second clutch at a point along the vertical axis that is furthest from the first end, the second clutch containing one of a recessing shape and a protruding shape; and (d) the curved portion including a diameter that is largest where the curved portion connects to each of the first end and the second end and then narrows along the curved portion, forming a curve that culminates at a neck where the diameter is smallest.
Intelligent blast-hole drill bit with redundant transducer wear sensor and remote recessed reflector antenna
An intelligent blast-hole drill bit that includes a housing embedded into a cavity in a bit body. A controller is disposed in the housing. An external antenna is disposed in the housing and coupled to the controller. An internal antenna is disposed in the housing and coupled to the controller. A wear transducer is disposed in the housing and coupled to the controller.
