Chemical ablation and method of treatment for various diseases
Embodiments of the present invention provide a device and a method for treating at least one of hypertension, pulmonary arteries, diabetes, obesity, heart failure, end-stage renal disease, digestive disease, urological disease, cancers, tumors, pain, asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by delivering an effective amount of a formulation to a tissue. In embodiments of the present invention, the formulation may include at least one of a gas, a vapor, a liquid, a solution, an emulsion, or a suspensions of one or more ingredients. In embodiments of the present invention, amounts of the formulation and/or energy are effective to injure or damage tissue, nerves, and nerve endings in order to relieve disease symptoms.
Endovascular apparatus for perfusing organs in a body
In one representative embodiment, a method of perfusing organs in a patient's body is provided. The method comprises isolating the visceral arteries and the visceral veins from blood circulating through the patient's heart and perfusing the visceral arteries, the visceral veins, and the abdominal organs with a perfusion fluid that is fluidly separated from the blood circulating through the patient's heart. While the visceral arteries and the visceral veins are isolated, and the visceral arteries, the visceral veins, and the abdominal organs are being perfused, the patient's blood is allowed to continue to circulate through the heart.
Multi-balloon instrument for dilating eustachian tube via middle ear
A dilation catheter includes a shaft, a distal tip sized and configured to pass through an isthmus of a Eustachian tube (ET), and an expandable element moveable along an exterior of the shaft between a proximal position and a distal position. The expandable element is operable to transition between an unexpanded state in which the expandable element is configured for insertion into the ET via the isthmus, and an expanded state in which the expandable element is configured to dilate the ET.
DEVICE FOR EXERTING A PULLING ON THE TUBING OF A CATHETER FOR HAEMOSTASIS OF THE PROSTATIC CAVITY AFTER SURGERY FOR BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA
A haemostatic device for treating post-operative bleeding of the prostatic cavity, having a body or catheter having a first canal in fluidic communication with a first inflatable balloon formed on the body. The balloon and canal are positionable inside the bladder against the back of the bladder and configured to apply a determined pressure, in the inflated state, on the prostatic cavity to block off and isolate the prostatic cavity, to reduce its volume and to occlude the blood vessels in its cavity wall. The body includes a second canal fluidically connected to a second balloon, extend in the prostatic cavity while conforming to the irregularities of the prostatic cavity. The device has a tensioning tube for easy insertion of the penis in the flaccid state, without compressing the walls of the penis or the glans, having a longitudinal slot extending between two ends of the tensioning tube.
REVERSIBLE ENDOLUMINAL OCCLUSION DEVICE FOR HEALING OF COLORECTAL ANASTOMOSIS
Disclosed herein are apparatus embodiments and methods for using same that facilitate occlusion of a lumen in a subject. In a particular example, the apparatus is configured for occluding a portion of the lower GI tract (e.g. colon). Further, the apparatus is configured for placement in the lumen and insufflation to secure within the lumen such that the apparatus remains in place without the need for uncomfortable conduits or tools extending out of the patient. In a particular method embodiment, the apparatus is useful for occluding a lumen following a surgical procedure such as an anastomosis.
Stabilizing and sealing catheter for use with a guiding catheter
A coaxial stabilizing and sealing catheter provides increased support to a guide catheter that is seated in an ostium of a branch artery by extending through and out of a distal end of the guide catheter and anchoring in position within the branch artery that is being treated. The stabilizing and sealing catheter includes, as part of a relatively flexible distal section, a balloon that locks a distal end of the stabilizing and sealing catheter in place to provide support to therapeutic devices that are introduced and further seals the branch artery to prevent blood from entering the branch artery. A sealing cuff at a proximal end of the stabilizing and sealing catheter provides a seal between an exterior of the stabilizing and sealing catheter and an interior of the guide catheter. In addition, a fixing mechanism is utilized to lock the guide catheter in place to exchange therapeutic devices.
CATHETER FOR MONITORING PRESSURE
A catheter insertable into a cavity of a patient for monitoring pressure including a first lumen for drainage from the cavity and an expandable balloon. The balloon has a liquid containing chamber to monitor pressure within the cavity of the patient as pressure on the outer wall of the balloon deforms the balloon and compresses the liquid within the balloon. An exit port provides passage of air from an interior of the balloon to outside the catheter. A membrane has plurality of pores dimensioned to enable passage of air but prevent passage of the liquid therethrough. A pressure sensor communicates with the liquid containing chamber for measuring pressure based on compression of liquid caused by deformation of the expanded balloon.
Double-balloon catheter device for gastrointestinal anastomosis
A double-balloon catheter device for gastrointestinal anastomosis. The double-balloon catheter device for gastrointestinal anastomosis includes a liquid injection assembly, a double-balloon assembly, and a supporting device (15) connecting the liquid injection assembly and the double-balloon assembly. The liquid injection assembly includes a first balloon liquid injection connection port (2), a guide wire connection port (3), and a second balloon liquid injection connection port (4). The double-balloon assembly includes a double-balloon catheter device (5), and includes a first balloon (6) and a second balloon (7) that can expand-and that are respectively disposed on the two ends of the double-balloon catheter device (5). The double-balloon catheter device (5) is provided with a first balloon liquid injection channel (51), a guide wire channel (52), and a second balloon liquid injection channel (53).
Infusion balloon and methods for use thereof
The present disclosure provides an apparatus including: (a) a frame (102) having a first end (104) and a second end (106), wherein the frame includes a plurality of struts (108) arranged between the first end and the second end of the frame, (b) a plurality of channels (110) disposed within the plurality of struts of the frame, (c) an infusion balloon (112) coupled to the frame and arranged such that, in an expanded condition, the frame provides a plurality of openings (114) that the infusion balloon is configured to expand through and extend radially outward from the frame, thereby defining a plurality of grooves (116), (d) a plurality of holes (118) defined in the frame and configured to permit fluid communication between the plurality of channels and the plurality of grooves, and (e) an infusion hub (120) arranged at the first end or the second end of the frame including a reservoir in fluid communication with the plurality of channels.
VESSEL BLOCKAGE PASSING
Apparatus for passing a blocked vein, including: (a) an intravascular catheter body defining at least one lumen; (b) a radially expandable anchor at a distal end of said catheter; and (c) a penetration tool sized and shaped to be delivered by the lumen to a point distal of the expandable anchor, the penetration tool including a tip and configured for being pushed through venous blockage more than one week old and present with a young's modulus greater than 1 MPa. Optionally, the penetration tool tip comprises a sharpened tip. Optionally or additionally, the penetration tool tip is controllably bendable.
