The invention in one of its aspects provides a connection apparatus for a subsea hydraulic circuit and method of use in a sampling application. The apparatus comprises a longitudinal body configured to be removably docked with a subsea hydraulic circuit receptacle. The body comprises a plurality of radial ports axially displaced along the body, and an axial bore accommodating a spool having at least one fluid barrie. The spool and fluid barrier are actuable to be axially moved in the bore to control axial flow paths along the bore between the plurality of radial ports. The apparatus may be configured as a sampling hot stab in an application to sampling a production fluid from a subsea hydrocarbon production system.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECOVERING FLUIDS FROM A WELL AND/OR INJECTING FLUIDS INTO A WELL
20170138146 · 2017-05-18 · ·

Methods and apparatus for diverting fluids either into or from a well are described. Some embodiments include a diverter conduit that is located in a bore of a tree. The invention relates especially but not exclusively to a diverter assembly connected to a wing branch of a tree. Some embodiments allow diversion of fluids out of a tree to a subsea processing apparatus followed by the return of at least some of these fluids to the tree for recovery. Alternative embodiments provide only one flowpath and do not include the return of any fluids to the tree. Some embodiments can be retro-fitted to existing trees, which can allow the performance of a new function without having to replacing the tree. Multiple diverter assembly embodiments are also described.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PULLING A CROWN PLUG
20170022774 · 2017-01-26 ·

Provided is a method and apparatus for pulling a crown plug from a subsea horizontal Christmas tree, the method comprising: (a) providing a subsea lubricator having a longitudinal through bore and a jack attached to the subsea lubricator, the jack having a landing area, and the landing area having an opening which is fluidly connected to the lubricator's through bore; (b) providing a jacking string which includes a landing sub and a crown plug connector, the sub having a landing surface; (c) without the jacking string in step b, lowering the subsea lubricator of step a, to the horizontal Christmas tree and attaching the lubricator to the Christmas tree; (d) lowering the jacking string to the lubricator, and, while the landing surface of the landing sub is spaced above and not supported by the landing area of the jack, connecting the plug connector to the crown plug while the landing sub is above and not touching the landing area of the jack; (e) jacking up the jack such that the landing area of the jack contacts the landing surface of the landing sub, and pushes up on the jacking sub and jacking string causing tensile forces to be placed on the crown plug and releasing the crown plug from the profile of the Christmas tree; (f) while the lubricator remains attached to the Christmas tree, raising the jacking string and crown plug through and out of the lubricator and to the surface of the water to remove the tree; and (g) detaching the crown plug from the crown plug connector.

Single line quick connector (SQC), a system comprising the single line quick connector and method of operating

A single line quick connector includes an outer housing, a screw element, a collet sleeve having a plurality of collet fingers, and a fluid line insert. The fluid line insert is connectable to a fluid line and has a groove for a coupler. The outer housing, the screw element and the collet sleeve are arranged such that rotation of the screw element results in an axial movement of the outer housing relative the collet sleeve, and thus the collet fingers. The outer housing has a radial through-going opening, and the collet sleeve has at least one recess between neighboring collet fingers. The through-going opening and the recess are configured such that, when connected, the fluid line insert extends radially through the through-going opening and the at least one recess.
