Subsurface Hanger For Umbilical Deployed Electrical Submersible Pump
A subsurface hanger apparatus for suspending an electrical submersible pump in subsurface tubing of a well includes a spool assembly having: a tubular shaped spool housing, a spool electrical pad, and a spool cable lead extending out of the spool housing. The apparatus also includes a hanger assembly having a cylindrical hanger housing, a hanger electrical pad, a hanger cable lead extending out of the hanger assembly in a direction opposite the spool cable lead, and a cable hanger sub circumscribing the hanger cable lead. The hanger electrical pad is positioned to engage the spool electrical pad when the hanger assembly is landed within, and supported by, the spool assembly.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING A WELLHEAD
A wellhead system includes a tubing or casing hanger to be installed in a wellhead, the tubing or casing hanger including an outer surface including a landing profile configured to engage a mating landing profile of the wellhead, a landing sensor configured to transmit a signal indicating contact between the landing profile of the tubing or casing hanger and the landing profile of the wellhead, and a processor configured to receive the signal transmitted by the landing sensor.
Tubing Hanger Assembly With Wellbore Access, and Method of Accessing a Wellbore
A tubing hanger assembly for suspending a tubing string within a wellbore is provided. The tubing hanger assembly comprises a tubing head, a tubing hanger and a tubing head adapter. The tubing hanger and the tubing head adapter have aligned through-openings such that a chemical injection line and a communications line may each be passed through respective through-openings, thereby enabling an operator to have access to the wellbore. Beneficially, the assembly also comprises a bottom flange that secures the tubing head adapter to the tubing head once the tubing hanger and connected string of production tubing are landed in the wellbore. The bottom flange may be rotated so that ports in the bottom flange may be aligned with ports in an upper flange in the tubing head. A method for hanging a string of production tubing in a wellbore is also provided herein.
Protected annulus flow arrangement for subsea completion system
A technique facilitates protection of potentially susceptible components from unwanted exposure to well fluids or other fluids in a monobore subsea installation. The subsea installation may comprise various components, e.g. a tubing hanger and a subsea tree which form a plenum region therebetween. An annulus stab (or stabs) is positioned to extend between the tubing hanger and the subsea tree so as to provide an isolated flow path within the annulus stab and through the plenum region. The isolated flow path also may extend longitudinally through the tubing hanger until exiting through a side of the tubing hanger. The annulus stab and overall isolated flow path are thus able to accommodate an annulus flow within the monobore subsea installation while protecting components exposed to the plenum region from contact with deleterious fluids in the annulus flow path.
Facility for assembly of well heaters
A facility for assembly of well heaters includes a well of sufficient diameter to receive coiled tubing; a scaffold supporting a coiled tubing injector, wherein the injector is configurable for injection of coiled tubing into the well and configurable for injection of one or more resistive heating cables into coiled tubing in the well; a coiled tubing guide system supported by the injector or the scaffold; and one or more cable guides for guiding the resistive heating cables from respective cable reels into the injector, wherein the cable guides are supported by the scaffold.
Tubing hanger running tool assembly
A tubing hanger running tool assembly includes a ring extending around a tubing hanger in a wellhead, and having a contracted configuration and an expanded configuration. The ring in the expanded configuration is received into a groove in the wellhead. The assembly includes a sleeve to actuate the ring between the contracted and expanded configurations. The sleeve includes a tubing hanger running tool received through the sleeve and having a lower end that is configured to be received into a first bore of the tubing hanger and to form a connection therewith. The tubing hanger running tool is configured to transmit an axial force to the sleeve in response to the tubing hanger running tool being received into the tubing hanger. The axial force moves the sleeve axially with respect to the ring, which actuates the ring between the contracted and expanded configurations.
WET CONNECTION SYSTEM FOR DOWNHOLE EQUIPMENT
A wet connection system suitable for use in hydrocarbon wells is formed from one or more elongated, small diameter conduits which extend down the wellbore and which terminate adjacent a locating structure on the production tubing. Equipment deployed at the locating structure is connected to one or more self supporting conductors which extend down the conduits from the wellhead. Preferably the conductors are retractable and the conduits are sealingly connected to the equipment, allowing the equipment and conductors to be deployed and recovered independently of each other and to be flushed with dielectric oil pumped down the conduits after re-connection.
Independent guide string hanger
A system, in certain embodiments, includes a casing head and a tubing hanger disposed within the casing head and supported by a first retaining feature of the casing head. The tubing hanger is configured to support a tubing string. The system also includes a guide string hanger disposed within the casing head and supported by a second retaining feature of the casing head independent of the first retaining feature. The guide string hanger is configured to support a guide string.
Cap for submersible pump
The cap for suspension of submersible pump with a pressure pipe and a cable with a cover with central axial hole and circular collar, with conical inner surface narrowing towards central hole, and clamping flange with central hole, sealing rubber ring of rubber cross-section installed between conical surface of collar of cover and flat side of flange. Bolts with nuts are installed in coaxial holes of cover for fixation of ring on the outer side of casing pipe of the well. Central hole of clamping flange has diameter smaller than mean diameter of rubber ring, while smaller diameter of conical surface of collar of cover is made with diameter exceeding mean diameter of rubber ring. Increased reliability and durability is provided by elimination of possibility of edge of the flange hole to cut into the rubber ring.
Wellhead electrical feed-thru penetrator with sealing, breakaway apparatus and method of installation
An improved wellhead electrical connection assembly utilizing upper and lower retention mechanisms to minimize pressure and fluid leakage in the event of a tubing part or other failure. The upper retention mechanism ensures the connection assembly remains within a tubing hanger. The lower retention mechanism provides a secure connection to a downhole cable that can breakaway without damaging or dislodging other components of the assembly during an emergency event.
